The beauty of an open world in a game is that it allows you to do everything in whichever order you want. However, this can be a bit of a problem in games such as Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader where enemies seem to have set levels, skills, and abilities based on their location. When it comes to difficulty, certain areas are much easier than others, which means you can make your game much harder just by going to the wrong place first. So, in this guide, we will present you with the most linear planet order in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader for Chapter 1 and 2, along with showing exactly which ones to visit first.

Which Planet Should You Visit First in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Chapter 1 – Chapter 1 Planet Order

Luckily, there are not a lot of places to visit in Chapter 1 of Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, so the planet order will be relatively simple here:

  1. Eurac V
  2. Prison
  3. Rykard Minoris

If you don’t instantly go to Eurac V, you will miss out on +2 Profit Factor from looting the station. This is the main reason you should go here first. Since Rykard Minoris is where the plot of the chapter ends, you should generally go there last.

In term of what happens if you go in different orders, here are some spoilers:

  • Eurac V – if you go here 1st, you can get Cassia to come with her servants to the ship and get +2 PF. If it’s the second location you visit you can’t get the Profit Factor anymore. If it’s the last one, the servants will be dead.
  • Prison – if you go here 1st, Evayne Winterscale will be preparing to talk, alongside his guards. If you go anytime later he will be strapped and tortured.
  • Rykard Minoris – if you go here 1st, you won’t face as many enemies and the soldier escorting you won’t be a traitor.

Which Planet Should You Visit First in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader Chapter 2 – Chapter 2 Planet Order

In Chapter 2 you won’t need to worry about things changing on the planets if you visit them in different orders, since this is not a problem now. The real problem here is the difficulty spike that comes with some of the fights.

This is why  is the planet you should visit first in Chapter 2, and this is the planet order you should follow for an optimized Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader experience:

  1. Janus
  2. Dargonus
  3. Kiava Gamma

Janus is the only planet where you will get a new companion, so it would generally be a good idea to go there first. Things are a bit calmer in Janus and Dargonus, allowing you to get some easy experience before heading to the horrible Kiava Gamma.

And that is all you need to know about which planet to visit first in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Check out other interesting Rogue Trader guides and articles:
