Nintendo has thrown their hat into the ring of summer gaming announcements, with a surprise Nintendo direct airing a day after Summer Game Fest ended. On June 9 2026 at 10AM EST, the publisher held an a 50 minute long Nintendo Direct where multiple games planned for 2026 were either announced or had further details revealed about them, then followed it up with a 45 minute Treehouse Showcase for further details on some of the games that were shown. Below is a fully detailed report of everything that was shown off during both the English and Japanese Nintendo Directs..

Rhythm Heaven Groove

The first game shown off during the showcase was a new trailer for the newest entry in the Rhythm Heaven franchise, Rhythm Heaven Groove. The title is currently scheduled to release on July 2, 2026.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been showing up at nearly every gaming conference this summer, and this Nintendo Direct is no exception as a portion of the Direct was dedicated to it. The game is currently scheduled to release on September 25th.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

Another Capcom title coming to Switch 2 is their hit 2024 game Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen. The title will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 9th, 2026.

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in the near future, as the game appeared in the Nintendo Direct with a release date of 2026.

Orbitals

The co-op adventure game with a 90s anime art-style, Orbitals has been in multiple directs so far and has a currently scheduled release date of September 3rd.

Rayman Legends Retold

Ubisoft’s upcoming remake of Rayman Legends will also be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1st, 2026. It was confirmed during the Nintendo Direct that the game will have four new musical stages.

Big Walk

One of the most unique looking games to appear in the direct was the co-op walking and talking game: Big Walk

One Piece: Grand Gorumet

After having a cook on the crew for more than 20 years, One Piece is finally getting a restaurant building game with the release of One Piece: Grand Gorument for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23.

Pokopia DLC

Pokopia will be getting a free update this August that will allow players to dive underwater in order to expand their towns. The game will also be receiving a paid DLC pass today that will let players explore a new town called Bubbly Basin.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave

Fire Emblem fans finally got more info on the upcoming Fortune’s Weave via a trailer that detailed all four of the game’s protagonists and several gameplay details that showed that the game will have a hub area similar to those seen in Fire Emblem: Engage and Three Houses. The game will be launching in September.

Ninjala 2

One surprising game shown during this direct was Ninjala 2, which will be releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.

DK Challenge Event

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have the opportunity to play through various challenges in the classic games in order to earn digital cards. DK and Pauline will also be receiving Mario and Luigi outfits in Donkey Kong Bananza

Jujustu Kaisen: Rumble Survivaton

I don’t think anyone in the world could have predicted that the Vampire Survivors devs would make a Jujutsu Kaisen game, but that is exactly what was shown off during the Direct!

Lords of the Fallen 2

Lords of the Fallen 2 will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in Fall 2026.

Lies of P: Complete Edition

Also coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year is Lies of P: Complete Edition. Which will be launching on August 2nd.

Muramasa: Revanent Blades

Muramasa: The Demon Blade has finally been ported and will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.

Devil May Cry V: Devil Hunter Edition

Capcom has been showing the Nintendo Switch 2 a lot of love as Devil May Cry V will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on June 23 2026.

Xenoblade Chronicles Nintendo Switch 2 Editions

All three mainline Xenoblade games will be receiving Nintendo Switch 2 ports with improved textures, framerates, and added gameplay features such as putting vehicles in Xenoblade Chronicles 1.

Xenoblade Genesis

Xenoblade fans won’t just have the Switch 2 versions of the trilogy to look forward to, as the next game shown in the Nintendo Direct was Xenoblade Chronicles 4! The title is scheduled to release in 2027.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

Wii Sports will be returning to Wuhu Island with Tennis, Volleyball, Bowling, Basketball, and more with the release of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026.

Runescape: Dragonwilds

Runescape: Dragonwilds will also be coming to Switch 2 on September 25th.

Hello Kitty Party Land

One of the cutest games shown off during the Nintendo Direct was Hello Kitty Party Land, which will be coming to Nintendo Switch and 2 on October 29th.

Star Fox

The upcoming remake of Star Fox got another preview during this Nitnendo Direct. The game will be releasing on June 25th and will have a demo available later today.

Final Fantasy Resonance

The Final Fantasy franchise will finally be getting an HD-2D game with the release of Final Fantasy Resonance, a new turn-based title in the franchise. While the game will feature an original plot, characters from past games will appear as summons. The game is launching on October 22nd.

Pikuniku 2

Pikuniku has returned for a sequel that features just as many ridiculous puzzles as before

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World

The newest entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters franchise will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Touhou: Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil

A remake of Touhou: Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil was shown in the Japanese Nintendo Direct but not in the English one. The game will be releasing in Japan on September 10th, 2026

The Duskbloods

A very short preview for The Duskbloods appeared in the direct, with a Closed Beta for the game coming in Summer 2026

Splatoon Raiders

A new trailer for the upcoming Splatoon Raiders showcasing the game’s various gadgets and gameplay mechanics appeared during the Direct. The title will be launching on July 23, 2026.

Deltarune Chapter 5

One of the final announcements of the Nintendo Direct is that Deltarune Chapter 5 is releasing on June 24th!

Metaphor: ReFantazio

Atlus’ hit JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12th, 2026.

Minecraft

Minecraft is on everything, so of course it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

Atelier Karia

A brand new game in the Atelier franchise was announced during the Nintendo Direct! While it only appeared during a sizzle reel in the English direct, it had a full trailer in the Japanese one.

Tales of Eternia Remastered

Another game to get a full trailer in the Japanese direct but only appear in the sizzle reel of the English one was a remaster of Namco’s classic JRPG Tales Of Eternia

Earth Defense Force 5

Earth Defense Force 5 was another game to get a bigger spotlight in the JP Direct as the game is getting an Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Kingdom Hearts Collection

After how disappointing the Switch 1 cloud ports of the Kingdom Hearts franchise were, Nintendo console owners will finally be able to play actual ports of the series on October 8, 2026.

Kingdom Hearts 4

A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 finally premiered after nearly half a decade, showing off many new characters and a ton of gameplay.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
