Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader – Rykard Minoris Choice Outcome

Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader - Rykard Minoris Choice Repercussions

At the end of Chapter 1, players will have to decide the fate of Rykard Minoris, the planet they spent most of their early game hours in. Though there is nothing to like about this planet, since you’ve spent every single second fighting cultists, most of us will still likely want to save people. Depending on your alignment, there are a few ways this scenario can end for you. In this guide we will tell you what happens if you choose to save the nobles, commoners, and the Miraculous Fusion Reactor or just destroy Rykard Minoris in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader and what you stand to gain or lose from this choice.

What Happens For Every Rykard Minoris Choice in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader

After the great boss fight with Aurora, Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader players will have to make a choice between destroying Rykard Minoris or saving either the nobles, commoners, or the Miraculous Fusion Reactor.

The main thing that matters when you take this decision is your morality points. The people that stand to suffer the most here are the Iconoclast players, since they will gain a permanent debuff for the rest of the game if they make the “right” decision.

So, if you choose to bomb Rykard Minoris and destroy the whole planet, you won’t get any debuffs and most people will be happy with your Rogue Trader’s decision.

If you choose to save even one of the options you have there, and you have the Dogmatic or Iconoclast alignment, then you will also get the Malediction of Rykard Minoris -5 Willpower debuff for the rest of the game.

However, if you are Heretical then you can save the people without any repercussions, because your character doesn’t really care.

The only real reward you get by saving anything in this Chapter 1 ending is +3 Profit Factor for taking the Miraculous Fusion Reactor. The commoners and the nobles just give people with the Iconoclast and Dogmatic alignments a horrible permanent debuff if you don’t also destroy the planet.

Best Alignment Choices

So, depending if you want to fully commit to an alignment, here are the best choices for them regarding Rykard Minoris:

  • Dogmatic – Don’t save anyone or anything, destroy the planet.
  • Iconoclast – Save everyone.
  • Heretic – Don’t save anyone or anything and leave the planet without destroying it.

So, if you are Dogmatic or Iconoclast, then your choice when it comes to Rykard Minoris in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader settles with you getting +3 Profit Factor in exchange for a -5 Willpower debuff (save Reactor), saving the people, or nothing (bomb Rykard Minoris). As a Heretic, you can get the PF without any repercussions.

And that is all you need to know about the repercussions of the Rykard Minoris destruction choice in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Check out other interesting Rogue Trader guides and articles:

You cannot save people and destroy planet at the same time. Once you pick any of the “saving” options, the “destroy” option disappears.
