As you play Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, you will stumble into potential companions even after hundreds of hours in game. One of the companions that you can recruit very late, around the start of Chapter 2 is Jae Heydari. This “exotic princess” is very charismatic and will likely work as a skill monkey for all Fellowship related checks. However, she has the capabilities to be an incredible support character for your party, making powerful heroes like your Rogue Trader, Cassia, or Yrliet shine. In this guide we will show you the best possible build you can use for Jae Heydari in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader up to level 35, when you get to the Exemplar archetype and you can basically do what you want, since it’s impossible to mess it up.

Best Jae Heydari Build in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader

Due to Jae’s high starting level and already selected Officer archetype, you are stuck with either choosing the Master Tactician or Grand Strategist archetypes for her. The Vanguard archetype would never work, since that is for tanks that get hit often.

You will mostly use Jae’s Move, Move, Move! and Bring It Down! abilities to give your allies extra turns. The question is what you are going to do after using those powers.

The Master Tactician has a lot of great bonuses for a support character that can empower herself and her allies, so that is what we are going to go for.

Master Tactician Archetype Levels

The abilities and talents of the Master Tactician work really well with the Officer ones Jae already has. So, here is the best build for Jae Heydari in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader for levels 16 to 35:

  • Level 17 – Strongpoint
  • Level 18 – In the Hero’s Footsteps
  • Level 20 – Fellowship
  • Level 21 – Agility, Nerves of Steel
  • Level 22 – Inspire
  • Level 23 – Ally Coordination, Persuasion
  • Level 24 – Ballistic Skill, Characteristic Training: Agility
  • Level 25 – Hidden Advantage
  • Level 26 – Coercion, Agility
  • Level 27 – Upgrade I
  • Level 28 – Heroic Inspiration
  • Level 29 – Coercion, Agility
  • Level 30 – Characteristic Training: Willpower, Assign Objective
  • Level 31 – Support the Advance
  • Level 32 – Agility, Lore (Imperium)
  • Level 33 – Primary Objective
  • Level 34 – Toughness, Ready to Serve
  • Level 35 – Upgrade II

The idea with this build is that every time a character uses a heroic act Jae will have a turn right after where she can use a free attack and ability to empower the party.

Considering that you can build up a decent amount of tactical advantage, you can also use the Press the Advantage skill to deal enormous amounts of damage with her burst attack.

Using Jae alongside Cassia will make Cassia the most overpowered character you can have in your party while also making Jae someone that you keep for the raw bonuses to everyone else.

Exemplar Archetype Levels

For the Exemplar levels we won’t really go into detail, as you can’t really mess it up if you made the right build until level 35, so we will just give you some general suggestions for talents to pick up:

Talents:

  • Eager Subordinates – allies that get extra turns from Jae will deal 15% more damage.
  • Attention! – allies that get an extra turn from Jae will get +7% Armour and Dodge, alongside +3 MP for the rest of combat. Does not stack.
  • Firebrand – when Jae gives someone extra MP or AP, they gain an extra +4 MP or +1 AP.

And that is all you need to know about the best build for Jae Heydari in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Check out other interesting Rogue Trader guides and articles:
