Looking for a great intense-action RPG to keep you on the edge of your seat for 30 hours? Then step into the enigmatic world of Soulstice, an intriguing creation from Reply Game Studios. In this dark adventure, you’ll embody Briar, the Ashen Knight, alongside her spectral sister, Lute, on a quest to seal a dangerous rift threatening the entire world. You’ll uncover hidden secrets and take on formidable adversaries and boss battles. But before that, you need to master a complex combat system through the initial difficulty levels. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to change the difficulty levels in Soulstice.
How to Change Difficulty Levels in Soulstice
You can change the difficulty levels from the Chapter Selection menu inside the Main Menu in Soulstice. There are five difficulty levels, listed in order from easiest to hardest:
- Human
- Initiate
- Knight
- Chimera
- Transcended
When you start the game, you can select one of either Human, Initiate, or Knight difficulty levels only. That’s because Chimera and Transcended levels are locked when you first start the game. These levels will be unlocked once you have completed Soulstice at least once on lower difficulty.
Changing Between Difficulty During a Chapter in Soulstice
You can start the game on “Human” difficulty level. But if you think you’ve acquired the basic skills and are ready to take on more bad guys, you can change the difficulty on the chapter selection menu. That means that you’re not limited to one difficulty but can switch to and fro while retaining all the collectibles and scores.
Keep this in mind: completing a level unlocks it on all lower difficulty levels, but not all higher ones. For instance, if you’ve completed Act I Chapter 4 on “Inititate” difficulty.
You will be able to choose the next chapter on “Initiate” OR “Human” difficulty but not on “Knight” since it’s a higher level.
Completing the game on “Knight” difficulty allows you to access all of the chapters from anywhere in all the lesser difficulty levels. This feature can actually work really great in your favor. Say for example you get stuck on a chapter on Knight difficulty.
You can go back to any previous chapter on Initiate difficulty to get all the crystals so you can upgrade your skills and weapons from Layton’s shop.
After you’ve upgraded and learned new combos, you can then re-try the chapter on Knight difficulty where you were stuck initially. Make sure you’ve crossed at least one checkpoint in order to save the game before you quit the chapter. Otherwise, you’ll have to start the chapter from scratch again.
