All Fire Emblem games have always been relatively hard without a bit of practice. Fire Emblem Engage can be very hard for someone that hasn’t played one of these strategy RPG games before. Luckily, if you made a mistake in the beginning, you can always change the difficulty by just interacting with a special part of your base. So, to make sure the challenge is exactly what you want, here is how to change the difficulty in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to Change Difficulty in Fire Emblem Engage
There are three difficulty levels in Fire Emblem Engage:
- Normal: For beginners and intermediate players.
- Hard: For experienced players.
- Lunatic: For those who crave a challenge.
To change the difficulty setting in Fire Emblem Engage, you will have to head to your room in Somniel and interact with your bed.

The third option for the bed will be to change the difficulty. However, there is no way to bring the difficulty up. You can only lower it.
If you want to play Fire Emblem Engage on a harder difficulty, you will have to start the game over.
What the Difficulty Settings Mean in Fire Emblem Engage
Normal difficulty will allow you to enjoy the tale without being hampered by extremely demanding or complex gaming aspects. We advise Normal difficulty if you are new to the Fire Emblem series or wish to proceed through the tale effortlessly.
Hard difficulty emphasizes more challenging combat than Normal difficulty. The number of adversaries grows, as do their stats, and the usage of their powers gets increasingly sophisticated. This difficulty level is intended for people who are already familiar with the Fire Emblem series and want a more thrilling and demanding game.
The adversaries are also more difficult to defeat, much more so than at the Hard difficulty, and gaining experience and leveling up becomes more challenging. This level, Lunatic, is for advanced players who have already beaten the game. If you want to experience the game’s most intense and nerve-wracking form, go for it.
