Baldur’s Gate 3: Class Level Progression – All Abilities, Stats

Baldur's Gate 3 Class Level Progression - All Abilities, Stats

If you are a fan of CRPGs and have played Owlcat’s Pathfinder games, then you might be used to knowing exactly what you will get for each level in your class before starting the game. Owlcat has gotten a lot of RPG fans used to the idea that you can plan your character to level 20 right while going through character creation. However, in Baldur’s Gate 3, players have no idea about their class progression with each level and are forced to choose their class based on aesthetic preferences, rather than making an informed decision. This is why we have decided to make a lengthy class level progression guide for Baldur’s Gate 3, where we show you exactly what abilities, HP, and stats your character will get for each level, to help you multiclass without any problems.

Class Level Progression in BG3 and How Leveling Up Works

Here are some general rules about how level up works in BG3, so you won’t be confused:

  • The HP you gain per level will be based on class and Constitution.
  • The Initiative won’t increase per level and it will be decided by class and Dexterity.
  • You don’t gain Ability scores (stat points) at various levels, you get Feats at levels 4, 8, and 12, which allow you to also increase Abilities, to a total cap of 20.
  • You only get Feats at class levels 4, 8, and 12. So, having level 3 in Monk and level 1 in Fighter won’t get you a Feat. To get all Feats while multiclassing, you would need to go level 8 and 4 in those two classes.

In this guide, we will go through each class in BG3 and show you their progression for each level, to see exactly what abilities you unlock, what features all the classes have, and what subclasses you can choose:
