Summer Game Fest 2026’s Opening Showcase has officially come and gone. On June 5 2026, at 5PM EST, Geoff Keighley came on stage to present multiple hours worth of trailers for games coming out within the next for years. If you were too busy to watch or simply had better things to do than watch hours worth of trailers, below is a fully detailed report of everything that was shown off during this showcase.
Resident Evil: Veronica
The showcase began with the unveiling for a trailer for the remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. This trailer had nice, slow pace that really got viewers into the atmosphere of the title before the eventual name reveal.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure
Next, gamers around the world were surprised with the announcement that a sequel to Studio MDHR’s hand-drawn indie title Cuphead was currently in development. No trailer for this title was shown, but gamers did get a small glimpse at a spinoff titled Might Cuphead Adventure.
Alien: Isolation 2
After that, gamers were given a first look at the previously announced Alien: Isolation 2
gen ATLAS
The following trailer finally gave players a second look at, gen ATLAS, the first game directed by Fumito Ueda (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) in over a decade, which had previously been announced at The Game Awards years ago as Project Robot.
Blood Message
Next up was a trailer for a chinese cinematic action game which takes place during the Tang Dynasty titled Blood Message.
Stranger Than Heaven
Gamers got a brief break from Geoff Keighley as Sega’s Yokoyama showed up to give the world another look at the upcoming Stranger Than Heaven with a story trailer which showcased scenes from the five eras that the game will take place in as well as the various actors and musical guests whom players will meet in this title and the reveal that a character in this game will be using the likeness of Tupac.
Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight’s tenth anniversary celebration continues to go strong with a teaser that appears to show the tenth anniversary event
Mortal Shell 2
After that. players got a brief trailer for Mortal Shell 2 to showcase that the game was entering open beta!
Sands: Raiders of Sophie
Sands: Raiders of Sophie was the next game showcased
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag
The next trailer was for the upcoming remake of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, which showcased several scenes of the game’s story with a remix of both the Assassin’s Creed main theme and Leave Her Johnny.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin
Players finally got another trailer for Platinum Games’ upcoming adaptation of TMNT: The Last Ronin at this year’s Summer Game Fest
Gundam: Rogue Orbit
Bandai Namco was next up as they revealed a AAA Gundam game with gameplay similar to that of Armored Core was currently in development.
An Eggstremeley Hard Game
After how tense the last few game announcements were, players got to watch a trailer for a relatively more chill co-op game about two geese taking care of an egg.
Crossfire
Crossfire has returned from the dead after being MIA since its reveal at The Game Awards several years back.
Control: Resonant
Control: Resonant had already received a trailer early this week at Sony’s State of Play, but it got another at Summer Game Fest which showcased more gameplay and the title’s theme song.
Guild Wars 3
Next, the world was shocked by a first look trailer for Guild War 3, a title which the publishers proudly refer to as the next step in the MMO Genre.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Pod racing fans got another look at the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Racer and a confirmation that the game will be releasing this October.
End of Abyss
Epic Games was up next with a trailer for the isometric horror game End of Abyss, which is scheduled to release on October 1st.
Virtua Fighter: Crossroads
The newest entry in Sega’s hit fighting game franchise Virtua Fighter received not only a title reveal, but a full trailer finally at Summer Game Fest. This title is very different from prior entries in the franchise from the look of the trailer.
Runescape: Dragonwilds
An entry in the Runescape franchise will finally be coming to consoles soon, as showcased in the latest trailer for Runescape: Dragonwilds.
Soulframe: Preludes
Next was a trailer for a trailer for a third person action game title Soulframe: Preludes
Grounded 2
Obsidian Entertainment’s Grounded 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5 on August 11th
Mafia: The Old Country
2025’s Mafia: The Old Country will be getting a story expansion DLC this August as well!
1666: Amsterdam
A new third person action title from the original creator’s of Assassin’s Creed titled 1666: Amsterdam was officially revealed to the world at Summer Game Fest, with the announcement that the game’s prologue sequence is currently available on Steam.
Saw: Genesis
Bloober Team was next to make an announcement as the next IP they’ll be making a game for will be the popular Saw franchise with Saw: Genesis, a 3v1 multiplayer game.
Lords of the Fallen: II
The next title to receive a trailer was Lords of the Fallen II, which is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
Star Wars: Zero Company
Star Wars fans have more than racing to look forward to in the future as a new trailer was unveiled for the upcoming game Star Wars: Zero Company, which is now scheduled to release on August 27th.
The Blood of the Dawnwalker
Gamers got a pleasent surprise next with another trailer for the upcoming dark fantasy vampire action title known as The Blood of the Dawnwalker, which is currently scheduled to release on September 3rd.
Among Us Story On Guard
The creators of Among Us were up next to reveal a new seemingly singleplayer standalone game in the franchise known as Among Us Story On Guard.
007: First Light DLC
Gamers have barely had any time to finish 007: First Light, but they won’t have to wait long to play more as a new DLC story mission will be releasing later this year.
Aion 2
A third person fast-paced action fantasy title called Aion 2 received a trailer at the showcase, with a release date scheduled for September of this year.
Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk Edgerunners
A new trailer for the highly anticipated Cyberpunk Edgerunners event in Wuthering Waves was shown next
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
Capcom returned to the showcase to reveal that a massive expansion would be coming to Monster Hunter Wilds in 2027.
Sword of Legends
While there weren’t many souls-likes shown as Summer Game Fest this year, fans of the genre were shown one with a look at the upcoming Swords of Legends, which is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush
After all the previous games that were shown, most viewers were then completely shocked with the reveal of a fun, colorful Hot Wheels game coming out September 24th
Sonic Crossworlds: Racing
Sonic Crossworlds: Racing announced some of it’s craziest crossovers yet with Evangellion and Godzilla coming to the game this year!
Attack on Titan 3
Koei Tecmo has returned to the Attack on Titan franchise for the third time with the reveal of Attack on Titan 3, coming out on July 1st.
Clutch
The creators of Forza revealed a whole new racing game today with the reveal trailer for Clutch, coming out in Spring 2027.
Chronicles: Medieval
The next game to receive a trailer was Chronicles: Medieval
Sea of Remnants
Sea of Remnants got another absolutely insane trailer which showed off perhaps more than was comprehensible.
Hitman
Fans of Hitman will be pleased to see that Agent’s 47’s next target is Wiz Khalifa and that the assassin will be entering the ring with him.
Palworld
It was announced that Palworld would finally be leaving early access on July 10th.
The Wolf Among Us 2
After nearly eight years, The Wolf Among Us 2 received a second trailer at Summer Game Fest and a currently scheduled release year of 2027.
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain
Shift Up, the developer’s of 2024’s surprise hit, Stellar Blade, showcased their newest title Stellar Blade: Blood Rain with an action packed reveal trailer.
Street Fighter 6 x Final Fantasy
Capcom gave fans a look at Street Fighter 6’s fourth year of DLC with the characters Yasmine, Arjun, Bosch, and the surprise guest character Tifa Lockheart from Final Fantasy VII!
Final Fantasy VII: Revelation
The reveal trailer for the final game in the highly popular Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII: Revelation was the final game shown off during this year’s Summer Game Showcase. The game is currently scheduled to release in Spring 2027.
