What Are Monk Weapons in BG3?
Monk Weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3 are all the weapons that your Monk character is proficient in, besides Two-Handed and Heavy weapons.
A basic Monk character normally only has proficiency in Simple Weapons and the Shortsword. However, if you manage to get proficiency in other weapons from race or class, those weapons will become Monk Weapons.
So, as long as a weapon doesn’t have the Two-Handed or Heavy trait, and you also have proficiency in it, that item will be a Monk Weapon.
For example, if you start the game as a Monk and then later get one level in Barbarian, you can use Battleaxes and scale your attack with Dexterity instead of Strength. This allows the Monk to use incredibly powerful weapons while also getting a huge AC bonus from Dex.
