Though Owlcat Games can make really entertaining CRPGs that will have you planning builds for the next 7 playthroughs, they make some of the worst puzzles we have ever seen. On your search for Calligos Winterscale, you are very likely to get lost on the huge, disjointed map of Quetza Temer. For some reason, this whole plant is a bunch of small areas, strung together with loading screens, that have absolutely no sense and that lead you in circles. In this guide we will show you exactly what path to take, right from your shuttle to the end, and escape Quetza Temer once and for all in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, while also completing the side quests for Yrliet and Idira.

Guide for the Forest Maze on Quetza Temer in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader

Unfortunately, if you just go from random exit to random exit you are very likely to get lost in the labyrinth that is Quetza Temer.

You will have two goals here, one of them will be finding Calligos Winterscale in the jungle and the second one will be guiding him to a settlement to rest.

Though there are a lot of small areas here to explore, you actually don’t really need to do anything, since it won’t be relevant to the main quest or side quests.

Here is exactly how to beat the jungle maze on Quetza Temer in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, starting from your shuttle and arrival on the planet:

  1. From the shuttle, head to the north-eastern entrance into the jungle (open the map to check which entrance is to the north-west and which one is to the north-east).
  2. You will now reach an area with a destroyed shuttle. Go to the exit to the north-east again, since this should be the only way out of here.
  3. In this new area you will have to fight a relatively big patrol of Aeldari, even if you have Yrliet in your party. After that is done, head to the north, towards the stone bridge exit.
  4. Players will now reach a crossroads with a broken tank in the middle of it, with traps hidden on both roads. Head to the eastern exit.
  5. In this area, you will find a body standing next to a tall tree. There are quite a lot of traps here and only one way to go, north.
  6. Finally, after a long journey, players should find Calligos Winterscale. After a short conversation, he will join you and you will have to head the only possible way, to the north-east.
  7. In this abandoned camp, you only have one way to go: north-east.
  8. Avoid the traps around the bunker and pass the log to exit to the north-east. For some reason, there are two exit buttons right next to each other over the bridge. Press the one on the left. Make sure to save here since, if you end up back at the broken tank, you messed it up and you will have to go through a lot of areas again.
  9. You are back at the location where you fought the Aeldari. Head to the north, over the stone bridge again.

After this, players should reach a settlement with forest dwellers where they can continue their quests and decide whether to save the Aeldari or not.

Simplified Instructions

Here is also a simplified version of the solution, without all the explanations and details, in case you messed it up and need to do it again from the start:

  1. Shuttle → North-East → Destroyed Shuttle
  2. Destroyed Shuttle → North-East → Aeldari Patrol
  3. Aeldari Patrol → North → Broken Tank
  4. Broken Tank → East → Tall Tree
  5. Tall Tree → North → Calligos Winterscale
  6. Calligos Winterscale → North-East → Abandoned Camp
  7. Abandoned Camp → North-East → Bunker
  8. Bunker → North-East (area exit button on the left) → Aeldari Patrol
  9. Aeldari Patrol → North

And that is all you need to know about how to get through the forest maze on Quetza Temer in Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader. Check out other interesting Rogue Trader guides and articles:
