Fix Module Mismatch Error in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord

Every time you update Bannerlord to a newer version, your save files will still be stuck to the old version. When you try to load your old save file, the Module Mismatch error will appear.

There are a few ways to handle the Module Mismatch error in Bannerlord:

  1. Press Yes and upgrade your save file to the new version.
  2. Downgrade Bannerlord to an older version.
  3. Start a new campaign.

Usually, when the Module Mismatch error appears, you can just press “Yes” and you will be able to continue the game as if nothing changed. Once you save the game again, the save file will upgrade to the new version.

This means that the Module Mismatch notification isn’t an error usually, it’s more of a reminder that your save file is outdated.

However, if you have save files from back in the early access days, then you won’t be able to upgrade the save file. You will have to downgrade Bannerlord to an older version to make it work.

In Steam, right-click on Bannerlord and open Properties. If you go to Betas you can choose which version of the game you want to play.

Otherwise, you can just start a new campaign and you won’t see the Module Mismatch error again until the game gets a new update again.

And that is all you need to know about the Module Mismatch error in Mount and Blade II Bannerlord. Check out other interesting guides and articles:
