How to Fix Workshop Not Making Money in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord
If you’ve been playing Bannerlord for a long time, then you might think you know how workshops work. Well, the developers made a little change a while ago that made workshops get 0 income more often than not.
Workshops in Bannerlord now produce items only if they know they will get a profit. If they realize that they will go on the negative then they will just stop producing items. So, if the raw resources (for example, grain for a brewery) is more expensive than the item your workshop produces (beer), then your workshop will stop producing items.
So, to fix your workshop not making any money in Bannerlord, you will need to do some research before making a workshop. Here are a few things you should check to make sure that your workshop is profitable:
- Check the existing workshops in the town and in the surrounding towns.
- Check the price of the item you want to produce in the town’s market.
- Make sure that there aren’t huge looter or bandit armies around the town.
If you want to make a brewery in a town but there is already one there, your profit will be really low. If there are breweries in the nearby towns, then your profit will be reduced. Make sure that there isn’t much competition in the region for your produced good.
Next, make sure that the item you want to produce is expensive in the market of the town. If you sell beer in that town, check to see the price of the item. If it’s written in red and you see that the item is expensive in this town, then a brewery is the way to go.
The last reason you might have problems is bandit armies killing all peasants and merchants coming into town.
Check your Mods
If that advice wasn’t enough and your workshop in Bannerlord is still not making any money, then you might have a bug caused by mods. Make sure that your mods are up to date and that other people using the mods aren’t experiencing the same problem.
