Fate/Samurai Remnant: How to Play as Zhou Yu

Fate Samurai Remnant How to Play as Zhou Yu

Fate/Samurai Remnant’s cast is full of unique and interesting characters, which raises a question among players: “Can I play as them?” Well the answer to that is yes! You can find various sidequests in the game known as Digressions which will allow you to play as other servants. Here is how to play as Zhou Yu in Fate/Samurai Remnant.

How to Play as Zhou Yu in Fate/Samurai Remnant – Digression

To play as Zhou Yu the player must begin the Digression side quest “Dyning to Prove One’s Worth”. You can start this Digression immediately after the opening cutscenes of chapter 2.

You find this Digression immediately in the starting area of the game’s second chapter. Instead of leaving the area like Saber and the game’s quest markers tell you, walk back over to Zhen Chenggong and talk to him.

After some dialogue where you learn more about Zheng’s patron and how he got to Edo. you will then begin a flashback where you get to play as Zhou Yu as the master and servant first arrived in Akasaka.

During the quest you’ll face a series of battles where you learn about controlling Zhou Yu’s normal attacks, his affinity skills, and his unique gimmick where you can control where he aims his bow.

Zhou Yu Attacks and Noble Phantasm

When playing as Zhou Yu, the player will immediately notice how differently he controls from Saber and Iori as he uses a ranged bow moveset with attacks pulled right from Dynasty Warriors 8 and Samurai Warriors 5. Making him a good contrast from the close ranked movesets of the game’s two protagonists.

You’ll also have full access to Zhou Yu’s Noble Phantasm “Fireship Afloat” which will allow you to deal massive damage to enemies across the entire field with a rain of flaming arrows.

After a few battles against regular enemies you will then be put into a boss battle against a Red Oni boss. This boss shouldn’t give you much difficulty as you have most likely charged up Zhou Yu’s Noble Phantasm gauge by now. Which will allow you to deal massive damage to the oni.

You may now realize just how much stronger you are when playing as Zhou Yu compared to Iori and Saber as he is able to take down this boss much faster than the other two while taking minimum damage.

This information should excite you as you’re playing as him now, but should also fill you with fear as Zhou Yu has made it clear he will fight you later in the game.

And that is all you need to know about how to unlock and play as Zhou Yu in Fate/Samurai Remnant. Check out other interesting Fate/Samurai Remnant guides and articles:
