Throughout 2024, Koei Tecmo and Type-Moon’s action RPG Fate/Samurai Remnant will be receiving a number of DLC scenarios and characters. February’s DLC will be focused on a tournament hosted by the character Gilgamesh.
In celebration of this DLC’s release in Japan, a new trailer has been released showcasing what players can expect to find in the DLC as well as the reveal of two new playable characters!
Throughout the trailer we witness the tournament where players will fight against several bosses from the game, taking control of two characters at a time to form new duos such as Musashi and Samson.
Players will even be able to take control of Rider from Fate/Samurai Remnant in this DLC! This is extremely notable as Rider was one of the few servants from the main game who wasn’t playable.
The biggest reveal in this trailer by far though was the reveal of the DLC’s villain: Ibuki-Douji from Fate/Grand Order. Ibuki’s role in the DLC appears to be a grand boss battle where she will repeatedly use her Noble Phantasm against you.
It is currently unknown if Ibuki herself will be made playable in the DLC, as all footage shown of her only features her boss fight. It is worth noting however that her size has been greatly reduced. Instead of being a towering giant like in Fate/Grand Order, she is the same size as the other playable characters.
At the end of the trailer, we also get a brief teaser of Gilgamesh fighting alongside Miyamoto Iori. As Gilgamesh was unplayable in the main game, it can be assumed that this DLC will add him as a playable character as well.
This DLC episode, titled “Record’s Fragment: Keian Command Championship” will launch on February 9. 2024. A mere day after the release of this trailer. The DLC can both be purchased on its own or as part of the Fate/Samurai Remnant season pass.
Fate/Samurai Remnant is currently available to purchase on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and on PC via Steam.
