The moment you reach the Mountain Pass in Baldur’s Gate 3 you will start hearing a lot about the Blood of Lathander. This ancient artifact sounds like it is better than anything you’ve ever seen in your whole playthrough. Well, without spoiling anything, it is probably the best item you can get in Act 1, if you were to forget about the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane. As you explore the Rosymorn Monastery and the Creche Y’llek, you will discover that the Blood of Lathander is hidden extremely well and you will need to put a lot of time and effort into finding it. So, in this guide, we will help you through the whole process, showing you how to get the Blood of Lathander in Baldur’s Gate 3, how to solve all the related puzzles, and how to pick it up without destroying everything around you.

How to Find the Blood of Lathander in BG3 – Solve All Related Puzzles
To get the Blood of Lathander in BG3, you will need to first enter the Rosymorn Monastery and find your way into the Creche Y’llek. Once you are inside this relatively hostile location, you will have to make your way to the Inquisitor’s Chamber in the northern part of the Creche and get past a puzzle to reach the Blood of Lathander.
First of all, you will need to solve a puzzle in the Rosymorn Monastery where you will have to find and collect Ceremonial Weapons to get the special Dawnmaster’s Crest. WIthout this item, it will be very hard to get the Blood of Lathander in BG3.
After that, you will need to make your way through the Cresche Y’llek all the way to the northernmost point. You can do it diplomatically or you can defeat all of the Githyanki. Once you finish the interaction with the Inquisitor, you will find a room to the West where you can interact with two statues.
Complete the stuck statue puzzle by pointing the northern one to the East and the southern one to the West to reveal a secret passage.
The last puzzle you will need to complete to reach the Blood of Lathander in BG3 is one where all the doors will be blocked off by some magic. What you need to do here is find the Energy Source (light blue crystals) and destroy it in every room.
There are 3 Energy Sources in total and you should generally find them easily if you just look around caves to the sides.
How to Get the Blood of Lathander in BG3 Without Destroying the Rosymorn Monastery
Now that you’ve reached the end of the Secret Chamber in BG3, you will see the Blood of Lathander levitating inside a contraption. If you pick it up, the laser will activate and it will destroy the Rosymorn Monastery, alongside all the Githyanki in the Creche Y’llek.
What you have to do here is interact with the Crest Panel right below the Blood of Lathander and insert the Dawnmaster’s Crest. Doing this will allow you to pick up the Blood of Lathander without causing any chaos, allowing all the Githyanki inside to live (if you haven’t defeated them earlier).
The Blood of Lathander Stats
Here are the stats for the The Blood of Lathander in BG3:
- Damage: 1D6 + 3 (4~9) + Strength Modifier (Bludgeoning).
- Lathander’s Blessing: Once per Long Rest, when your hit points are reduced to 0, you regain 2~12 hit points. Allies within 9m also regain 1~6 hit points.
- Lathander’s Light: Sheds holy light in a 6m radius. In combat, fiends and undead standing in the light are Blinded.
- Cast Sunbeam once per Long Rest.
