In Wartales, players will have to form a large party of mercenaries that they will need to use to solve many problems in each region and fight bandits and monsters all over the world. As you slowly recruit more and more mercenaries, you will usually end up thinking that you need to know what the max party size is. But, some players have reached a party size of around 30, and the game doesn’t seem to stop them. So, what is the max party size in Wartales and what would be the optimal number of mercenaries needed to do all you need in the game? Here is the answer.

What is the Max Party Size in Wartales?
There is no max party size in Wartales. You can recruit as many mercenaries as you want. You can even get more than 30 people in your party and they will all appear on the battlefield.
The only problem with recruiting so many people in your party is that the enemies will also have parties that are relatively equal in number. Even if you chose Region Locked or Adaptive Exploration, the number of enemies in parties will be the same. It will be based on your number of mercenaries.
What is the Optimal Party Size in Wartales?
Now that you know that you can have as many mercenaries as you want in the game, you will need to think about how many you actually want. The optimal party size in Wartales is 10, excluding ponies and animals.
The optimal party size we chose is based on the Professions in Wartales. You should usually aim to have all of the Professions in the game in your party. Though you can give prisoners Professions that you don’t have in your party, it would be nice to profit from the stat boosts they give.
Since there are 10 Professions in the game, you should have 10 mercenaries that have all of the possible Professions. However, you can have as many ponies as you want. You should just be careful with animals, as they also count when deciding how many troops your enemies have in their parties.
Usually, if you have a 10-man party, your enemies should have around 10 to 20 troops in their parties, allowing for relatively medium-length and fun battles.
