Yes, Wartales has coop multiplayer and it is actually relatively fun. Though it might be as some of us might imagine, it is simple and will also allow some freedom between players.

How Coop Multiplayer Works in Wartales
In Wartales, coop works a lot like an open-world game where you can’t go too far from your friends. Players can’t get too far from their coop partners. You can imagine you are all playing on the same screen and you can’t leave the screen and run away from your friends.
There is a maximum capacity of 4 players, as there are only 4 starting characters. Each player has their own party and you can choose to exchange mercenaries with each other at any time. You will also have your own personal inventory.
On the other hand, money, influence, and weight cap are all shared. On the camp screen, you will also have access to a common chest where you can deposit items that are also useful to the other parties and that you want to trade with each other.
In combat, the usual way the battles work is that you have a turn, and then the enemy has one. Well, with coop, your turns are “team” turns.
When it is your turn, either you or your friends can move your parties. The one that moves first takes over that turn. You will only have control over the troops in your party.
