Though Palworld has surprised many players positively with its gameplay and mechanics, there are still some things that can ruin the experience for some. If you are one of those people that have an Ultrawide or Super Ultrawide monitor, then you likely often run into problems when trying out a new game on the PC. Palworld is, unfortunately, another one of the games that will have you going into game files to fix a FOV problem. In this guide we will show you exactly how to fix the FOV for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide monitors for Palworld, since you will otherwise miss out on seeing your character’s legs.
How to Fix Cropping for Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide FOV in Palworld
Before you get started with any of the steps we will list below, make sure to set up all your other settings in game, since you will otherwise have to do some annoying stuff afterward when you want to change them.
Here are the exact steps you will need to follow to fix the Ultrawide FOV problem in Palworld:
- Go to the following directory in your PC: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows.
- Open up the Engine.ini file with Notepad.
- Paste the following code at the end of the file:
[/script/engine.localplayer]
AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV - Now right click on the Engine.ini file, open Properties, and check the Read-only box.
The screen should actually show you your character’s legs and all of the surroundings. However, the real problem here is that you can’t set up an FOV larger than 90. Unfortunately, to raise FOV above 90, you will need to do some harder game file editing, so this will do for now.
If you want to change other in-game settings later, return back to the Engine.ini file and uncheck the Read-only box. However, you will have to come back and paste the code after making your desired changes.
