Mount and Blade II Bannerlord is an RPG strategy game where you will do your best to conquer the fictional world of Calradia. Unfortunately, this task can’t be fulfilled by one single powerful man or woman. Players will have a lot of companions and vassals that will also help them conquer lands. So, you’ve created a secondary party for one of your companions, or for your brother, since he is so capable, and you now want to disband it. Either because it is too expensive, or because it’s just useless at the moment. Well, to help you get your companion back, here is how to disband a party in Mount and Blade II Bannerlord.

How to Disband Party in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord

To disband a party in Bannerlord, you will have to follow these steps:

  1. Open the Clan menu (the button that looks like a lion).
  2. Go to the Parties tab on the upper side of the screen.
  3. Select the party you want to disband.
  4. On the right side of the screen, you should see the name of the party (“Party Leader’s Party”). Press the Change Party Leader button (the crown surrounded by two arrows), which is situated right next to the party name, over the party size.
  5. Choose the Disband Party option and then press Done.
  6. The game will ask you if you are sure and it will tell you what will happen to the troops when the party’s disbanded. Say that you are sure.

Now, the party will spend a short time disbanding, so it won’t disappear from the Parties screen until then. The troops from the party will join the closest party or base.

What can be confusing about how to disband a party in Bannerlord is the fact that the button is relatively hidden. Most players won’t think that they have to first select to change the party leader to disband the party.
