In Fire Emblem Engage, you can only unlock and recruit cool characters by doing side quests. Though it seems that most characters in paralogues are recruitable, it is good if you know which one of your characters is actually supposed to start the conversation. The second character in Fire Emblem Engage that you will have the ability to recruit, and also miss out on, is Anna. Here is how you can recruit Anna in Fire Emblem Engage.
How to Recruit Anna in Fire Emblem Engage
You will be able to recruit Anna after finishing chapter 6, The Stolen Ring. Once you finish the chapter and get your hands on another Emblem Ring, you will have the ability to do a side quest to the west.
Head over to the Bandit Hideout and start the Mysterious Merchant paralogue. In this quest, you will see Anna hiding in one of the chests in the bandit base.
You don’t have to personally open the chest where she is hidden if you allow the thieves to open the three chests.
She will come out of the chest at the end of round 4 when one of the thieves opens her chest and she will start running away from the battle.
Otherwise, if you defeat the thieves, you will have to open her chest yourself.
To recruit Anna during this battle, you will have to approach her with Alear (your character) and use a turn to talk to her. No other character can talk to recruit her, so make sure to use Alear.
If the badits defeat her, you won’t be able to recruit her. Make sure to rewind if that happens. If she is defeated after being recruited and you are playing on Casual, there will be no repercussions.
Anna is an Axe Fighter / Backup, the same as Boucheron, however, she is in many ways a better choice. Her special ability, Make a Killing, allows her to get 500G for her kills randomly based on her Luck stat.
Players can easily befriend Anna once they get her using some of the gifts at the Flea Market. If you want to properly use Anna in Fire Emblem Engage, you will also have to see her growth rates and prepare accordingly.
