Fate/Samurai Remnant: All Endings Guide

Fate/Samurai Remnant All Endings Guide

Koei Tecmo’s Fate/Samurai Remnant pays homage to its roots at many points and turns. Like in the original Fate/Stay Night, Samurai Remnant has three separate routes. Each of these routes has its own villain and a vastly different. These endings are determined by choices the player makes throughout their playthrough. There aren’t many choices to make during the game, but each will lock you out of a different ending. Upon starting the game it isn’t clear how many endings there are or how to reach them all. So here is a guide for all endings in Fate/Samurai Remnant.

Choices That Will Influence Your Ending in Fate/Samurai Remnant

There are two choices that will affect your endings in Fate/Samurai Remnant. One is available on your first playthrough while the other is only available on your second.

These choices affect which characters survive through Chapter 5 and vastly change the ending. Here are the two choices that determine your endings:

  • Choosing to “Pursue Assassin” or “Fight Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro” during Chapter 4.
  • Choosing to “Destroy” or “Don’t Destroy” the Waxing Moon during Chapter 5 on a second playthrough.

All Endings in Fate/Samurai Remnant

Good Ending (A Ray of Light)

If you choose to “Pursue Assassin” during the game’s fourth chapter, you will fight the out of control servant. This results in Dorothea Coyett surviving the chapter. Her survival begins a chain of events where Zheng Chenggong joins up with Caster.

The final chapter in this route focuses around learning the true identity of Caster and defeating him. This ending results in the best outcome where the grail is destroyed and most of the cast survive.

True Ending (Flames of Resentment)

You will start this route if you choose to “Fight Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro” during the game’s fourth chapter. During this route, Rogue Saber will survive and become a playable party member. His survival greatly affects the plot from the fifth chapter onward.

The final chapter of this route focuses on the character of Chiemon and a battle between him and Iori. As a result of the player’s choices, while the ritual is stopped with the destruction of the grail, most of the cast die. Leaving a more bitter taste in your mouth than the other endings.

Bad Ending (Entreat the Darkness)

This ending is only available on a second playthrough. Throughout a second playthrough, you will notice many new scenes about Iori’s past. If you then choose to “Don’t Destroy” the Waxing Moon during Chapter 5, you will be put into a new route with a new final boss and ending.

During this route Iori embraces his nature as a swordsman and vows to kill Saber in order to keep the ritual going. You will be forced into a difficult boss battle against Saber in this route. This ending results in the worst outcome for the ritual. The entire cast except for Saber die, with the only saving grace being the destruction of the grail.

Secret Ending (A Journey to Conquer the World)

Fate/Samurai Remnant also includes a joke ending that can be reached as soon as the fourth chapter. If you complete all of Gilgamesh’ Digressions, he will eventually offer you a job as his vassal.

Accepting this request will immediately result in an early ending where you journey the world. While this ending is a joke that doesn’t even play the full credits, it will still boot you to the title screen. So make sure to save before talking to him.
