Fate/Samurai Remnant’s many explorable areas are filled with various collectibles such as Priceless Items or Old Shrines. Finding these collectibles rewards players with skill gems for learning techniques or materials for upgrading their Mantles. One of the more obscure collectibles in the game is the “Ninja Trainee”. The only hint that this type of collectible exists comes from one of Yamabuki’s various Edo Commissions in Yoshiwara. However, there is no hint about what this collectible actually is or how to find it. So here is a guide on where to find every Ninja Trainee location in Fate/Samurai Remnant.
All Ninja Trainee Locations in Fate/Samurai Remnant
To find the Ninja Trainee, Kagemaru, you must talk to NPCs who look out of place and are labeled as “???” The Ninja Trainee will hide thirteen times and must be found in order starting from his first location in Asakusa.
Asakusa
The Asakusa Ninja Trainee location can be found on the path toward the training area where Iori dueled himself during the game’s third chapter. Kagemaru will be disguised as a white dog near some stairs. Talk to him and he’ll change locations.
Yoshiwara
Kagemaru’s next hiding location is in the residential section of Yoshiwara. You previously visited this area while searching for a debtor in the prolouge. Here he’ll be disguised as a white and brown cat by a tree.
Okachimachi
The third Ninja Trainee location can be found in the southeastern section of Okachimachi’s map. Kagemaru is disguised as a black cat on the grass this time.
Ueno
For the fourth Ninja Trainee location go to Ueno and make your way to the western part of the map. Here you’ll find Kagemaru disguised as a little girl in a red kimono.
Suidobashi
The Suidobashi Ninja Trainee location is directly next to the area’s entrance. This time you’ll find Kagemaru disguised as a black cow eating some grass. He will even comment on the grass eating when you find him.
Kanda
Kagemaru’s next hiding location will be in Kanda. He’ll be directly north from the area’s entrance directly next to a shopkeeper. This time he’s disguised as an exact duplicate of the shopkeeper NPC.
Nihonbashi
In Nihonbashi, you’ll find Kagemaru hiding on the path where you fought some foreign sailors in the second chapter. He’ll be disguised as Iori’s friend Sukenoshin this time around.
Shinagawa
For the next Ninja Trainee location, make your way to Shinagawa and go to throw western section of the map. Here you’ll find Kagemaru once again disguised as a white dog.
Rokugo Ohashi
The ninth Ninja Trainee location can be found in Rokugo Ohashi in a western part of the map you don’t visit in the story. Kagemaru’s disguised as a black horse in a stable this time around.
Tamanawa
Tamanawa’s Ninja Trainee location can be found directly south of the area’s bulletin board and a Priceless. Yet again Kagemaru will disguise himself as a shopkeeper directly next to an actual shopkeeper NPC.
Yokosuka
Next travel to Yokosuka and make your way to the area south of the black ship where you fought Dorothea and Assassin in chapter 2. Here you’ll find Kagemaru disguised as a Dutch man feeding some pigeons.
Futago
In Futago you’ll find Kagemaru hiding in the eastern section of the map. He’ll be on a port next to the river. This time he’ll be donning his white and brown cat disguise.
Final Ninja Trainee Location
Finally, return to Asakusa and make your way to the eastern section of the map directly south of the bulletin board. Kagemaru’s final disguise will be that of a black dog sitting under a tree.
Your reward for finding all thirteen Ninja Trainee locations will be 8000 money, 1 skill jewel for your skill tree, and 10 gold dust for upgrading your workshop. A relatively good reward for a task like this.
