Fate/Grand Order’s shop can be more than a bit intimidating for new players. There are nearly a dozen shop tabs and each one is filled with different materials that you may not know how to obtain. One of these shop tabs is the “Special Summon” tab, which proclaims to allow you to obtain free copies of 5-Star servants in exchange for a strange material known as an “Unregistered Spirit Origin”. If you’ve just started the game though, you’re unlikely to have a single one of these items. What are Unregistered Spirit Origins?
Unregistered Spirit Origins, also referred to as Saint Graphs and Spiritual Foundations in the lore of Fate/Grand Order are a magical material used to manifest servants. In gameplay terms, they are a material you can obtain and exchange in Da Vinci’s “Special Summon” shop tab.
The Unregistered Spirit Origins shop tab contains every permanent 5-Star servant in the game alongside any 5-Star servants which currently have Rate-Up banners in the gacha. Each servant in this shop tab will cost 10 Unregistered Spirit Origins to obtain, making them a very tempting resource to collect.
How to Get Unregistered Spirit Origins in Fate/Grand Order
To obtain a single Unregistered Spirit Origin in Fate/Grand Order, you must obtain more than five copies of a single 5-Star Servant.
Whenever you pull multiple copies of a servant in Fate/Grand Order, you can upgrade their Noble Phantasm level, these upgrades cap at level 5. For every copy of a 5-Star servant you obtain after fully upgrading their Noble Phantasm, you will obtain a single Unregistered Spirit Origin.
While this may sound like a simple process, it’s much more unlikely than it may sound. Obtaining a single 5-Star servant in Fate/Grand Order will cost you upwards of 200 Saint Quartz, to get them to Noble Phantasm level 5 you will spend nearly 1,000 and that’s if you don’t have bad luck.
To obtain a free 5-star in the Special Summon shop tab, you’ll need at least 10 Unregistered Spirit Origins. Meaning a single one of these free servants will cost you upward of 3,000 Saint Quartz! A tremendous task.
Because of this, most Fate/Grand Order players can go years without obtaining even a single Unregistered Spirit Origin! Let alone the amount you need to exchange them for a free servant. If you are a truly dedicated whale though, these numbers may be nothing to you.
