Moist Esports is Suing US Immigration

This Esports Team is Suing US Immigration

YouTuber and streamer Charles White, also known as MoistCr1TiKal, has revealed Moist Esports’ intention to sue United States immigration.

In his latest video, Moist Esports’ founder stated that he intends to lawyer up to sue US Immigration. This comes after discovering what he described as “pure rotten to the core, blatant corruption,” within the government body.

“It’s worth suing US immigration to get that decision overturned if we win but I am stunned at how deep and rotten the system is. It is so f*cking broken, it is a joke,” said White in the video.

The “greatest upcoming lawsuit of all time” is the result of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services’ decision to deny Moist Esports’ Apex Legends team entry to the United States.

The players are part of the first Apex Legends LAN event of 2024, the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs, on May 2. They are one of the heavy favourites to win the tournament.

The denial comes despite Moist Esports’ compliance with the necessary requirements. The team previously requested an Electronic Arts executive to vouch for the team’s credibility, to no avail. White claims that, in a last-ditch effort, the organization tried to apply for B1 Visas instead, which still didn’t work.

The situation forced Moist Esports to let go of their players on April 12. In doing so, the players had a better chance of gaining entry into the United States. Immigration ultimately approved the now-teamless players less than two weeks before the event started. The former Moist Esports players are currently playing in Los Angeles at the LGS Split 1 Playoffs under the “Not Moist” banner.

After scoring 118 points following the first two days of ALGS Split 1 Playoffs, Not Moist is moving on to the winner’s bracket on May 4. The ALGS Split 1 Playoffs Finals are scheduled for May 5.

Can Moist Esports Resign Their Esports Team?

Not Moist has done an excellent job despite the issues it faced ahead of the event. But, the bigger question for Moist Esports now is, can the team resign the players it let go?

Australians “Emtee” and “Wxltzy” have lived and played in Canada for several months. This is a workaround so they can continue playing as part of the North American region. However, their former organization is based in North America. The VISA situation might complicate things and prevent Moist Esports from resigning the players and vice versa.

As one of the partnered teams for the Apex Legends Global Series this year, losing Moist Esports will be a huge blow to the scene.
