Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy has finally launched on mobile devices. The roster of this title may be smaller than prior games, but it features a wider variety of side characters, such as Kain from Final Fantasy IV and Rikku from Final Fantasy X. One character who was a surprise addition to this roster is Krile from Final Fantasy V, who is one of two Support characters currently in the game. Because many people are having difficulty grasping how differently Krile plays from most characters in the game, I have put together this guide explaining all of Krile’s abilities, lower rarity substitutions, and how to play a proper match as her.

Krile’s Abilities in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Krile’s main gimmick that separates her from all other units in the game is her ability to share Bravery with both allies on her team by standing still and cheering. Properly using this skill can lead to your team constantly activating Bravery Burst over and over again.

Your Bravery will be evenly split between both allies, but you will be vulnerable to enemy attacks while cheering. Proper Krile play will require you to get to a safe position where you can share this Bravery without being killed.

It’s important to remember that Krile’s Bravery Sharing scales with how much she currently has. If she has 9,000 or higher bravery, then you will be able to quickly share 3,000+ with your allies within a few seconds, but if she were to have 3,000 or lower, then it would take just as much time to share a measly 1,000 with your allies.

Like every character in the game, Krile has four abilities that are exclusive to her. Two UR Abilities, one SR Ability, and one R Ability. The only way to obtain these is by participating in the game’s gacha, and like every other character, most of Krile’s use will come from having these in your kit.

Ability NameGacha RarityAbility Effect
Legend of the Deep ForestURContinously heal All Allies (Up to 300%/15s)
Seal Sacred LightURLaunch nearby foes into the air (medium damage)
Hopeful CheerSRModerately increase the ATK of all allies (15s)
NightingaleRRestore the HP of all allies (30%)

Unlike some other characters in the game, who you can theoretically play a few matches as without any of their gacha material, Krile absolutely CANNOT be played unless you have at least pulled her R Ability and SR Ability. These two abilities are the center of her use as a support unit and cannot be substituted.

As for her URs, while her Legend of the Deep Forest Ability is an absolutely vital part of her kit, as it is used to give HP to allies when they’re in a jam. If you plan to go to Omega Rank with her, you’ll likely want to pull this ability ASAP. However, one cannot always expect to pull URs. So here are a few substitutions for it that can be used to help your allies in lower ranks

  1. UR Ramza’s Cheer Up – Can be used to instantly give someone in the party 80% of Krile’s Bravery
  2. R Embolden – Can give an ally 50% of Krile’s Bravery
  3. SR Heal – Restore 20% of all allies’ HP

While there aren’t many abilities that can substitute Legend of the Deep Forest, as there aren’t many support skills in the game at all, these should allow you to help your allies until you successfully pull Legend of the Deep Forest

As for her Sealed Sacred Light Skill, this one is not necessary for good Krile play, as it is an attack. While you don’t want to leave your Krile defenseless (and you should be defending your allies as they attack the boss), you also don’t need her absolute best attack. So here are a few abilities that can help Krile face enemies if you don’t have her UR attack

  1. UR Ace Fire RF – Widely considered to be the best non-character specific attack in the game currently, excellent for if an enemy player attacks you
  2. SR Earth Breaker – Great for knocking away enemy players and defeating enemies as crystals
  3. SR Thundaga – Does little damage to players but is excellent for clearing crystals

Now, even if you have all of Krile’s gacha Abilities, you will be left with one extra slot for whatever you want. Because Krile is a support unit who can die very easily, I would recommend equipping Selphie’s UR Wall if you have it in order to cut down the amount of damage you’re taking.

If you do not have that UR Ability, you can substitute it with any lower rarity barrier skill. These will be a lifesaver if any enemy attempts to attack you in order to end your support.

While you shouldn’t worry too much about Krile’s Job Medals, as they are completely randomized and impossible to easily grind new ones, her best job is Time Mage, as these medals reduce the cooldown counter for Abilities, which will be tremendously helpful for her Legend of the Deep Forest, which takes a long time to recharge.

How to Play a Krile Match

Let me make one thing clear. Even if you have the best Krile with all her URs at a super high level, she cannot take down most characters solo. You are playing a support character who is made of paper and should not be charging ahead into the enemy team’s territory.

Instead, a Krile player should focus on staying back, purifying crystals, and buffing their allies whenever possible. When a match starts, focus on killing the enemies by your starting crystal and go from there.

The hardest part of playing Krile is deciding when to use your Legend of the Deep Forest Ability. Unlike your other buffs, this one has a cast-time animation that plays before it activates. This means if you wait too long to use it, your allies might end up dying before their health can begin to regenerate.

The best advice I can give is to activate the Ability as soon as your allies get into a skirmish with the enemy team. Even if you end up activating it too early, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

As for Krile’s Hopeful Cheer SR skill, hold back on activating this until your team activates their Bravery Bursts. Because Krile is likely not going to be attacking the boss herself, you’ll need to use this buff to increase your team’s damage rate and compensate for the lack of a third DPS.

For sharing Krile’s Bravery with your allies, you’ll frequently need to think and choose whether it’ll be faster to share your own or run over and purify a new crystal. If Krile has only around 3,000 Bravery and your allies have less than 9,000, then purifying a crystal will be a much better use of your time than slowly spreading that 3,000 around.

If both of your teammates have 9,999 Bravery or are currently in Burst, do not waste your time trying to share more. Simply stop and begin to build up your own Bravery so you can share it with your allies when they need it.

Finally, when your team is attacking the boss, it’s in Krile’s best interest to stop hanging back and go defend them. If the enemy team is trying to defeat your allies and force them out of their Burst state, then you should defend them. Krile’s UR is excellent at stunning enemies, but if you have Ace’s UR or Thundaga, you should be able to keep them away long enough.
