Age of Decadence is a truly hardcore, gruesome game, not made for the weak. Though you still can get through the game without ever having to heal or use any consumables. That said, one failed persuasion check and you bump into your first wound. At that moment, any Age of Decadence player would love to know how to heal. Well, we are here to show you how to do that and be prepared for any fight and event in AoD.
How to Heal in Age of Decadence
Unfortunately, Age of Decadence keeps its difficulty when it comes to recovering health as well, so here are the 3 ways to heal:
- Pay the Healer
- Use Healing Items
- Finish an Act
All these healing methods are intuitive when you think about them. However, each of them has its disadvantages.
The Healer’s Services
There is a Healer in every big town in AoD. Their services do become more expensive as the game progresses, but it is worth it.
You can easily find and get to the Healer by opening your map and clicking the “Healer” button there. You will be instantly teleported there.
Alchemy and Healing Items
There are 2 items that can heal you in Age of Decadence:
- The Healing Salve
- The Regeneration Potion
You can buy Healing Salves from special merchants and alchemists all over the world. However, the best way to get healing items is to make them yourself. With just 2 points in Alchemy, you can start making Healing Salves that give you 15 HP. By increasing your Alchemy level, the effect becomes stronger:
- Alchemy LVL 2 → 15 HP
- Alchemy LVL 4 → 20 HP
- Alchemy LVL 6 → 25 HP
- Alchemy LVL 8 → 30 HP
- Alchemy LVL 10 → 40 HP
Once you reach level 7 in Alchemy, you will also unlock the Regeneration potion, which lowers your max HP by 5 and regenerates 1 HP per turn. At level 10 it will evolve to -8 max HP and +2 HP per turn.
Finish an Age of Decadence Act or Mission to Heal
An assured way to heal in Age of Decadence is to finish one of the 3 Acts. There are also several missions in the game that will restore your health when they are finished.
