On April 19 2026, the first official season of Square Enix’s 3v3 Gacha-based arena-fighter Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy came to an end, with player placements on the leaderboard being set in place. Players would have until the end of April to continue grinding through their current season passes, and those who log in between now and when the second season begins will receive 1,000 Mog Points as a reward for participating in Ranked battles during the game’s first season.
Square Enix has now confirmed via an in-game notification and a post on Twitter that the second season of the game will begin on April 28 2026. This new season (titled Warriors Assemble) will center around celebrating how the game now features sixteen playable characters, one from each mainline Final Fantasy game.

Alongside this season’s release, players can expect new gacha banners featuring Rikku from Final Fantasy X and Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI, who will be added to the game this season. Like most characters in the game, they will share both a character banner, which players can spend character tickets on, and an ability banner featuring the UR and SR skills of both characters that the player can spend Mog Points on.
In addition to adding these characters, the game will be implementing the following changes after maintenance on April 27, according to the patch notes.
Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy: April 27 Patch Notes
- Fixed an issue where character controls could become unresponsive under certain conditions, such as after being defeated or after the boss cutscene
- Added an option to choose the direction of the camera after a Bravery Burst (character-facing or original camera direction)
- Fixed an issue that prevented missions from being cleared in Challenge Battles
- Adjusted behavior so that when a boss’s HP reaches 0 during an ability animation, the battle will end immediately and determine the results
- Adjusted the baseline battle score values and updated the scoring to reflect sharing Bravery
- Adjusted the fixed ability levels in Casual Battles
- Updated so that players will not rank down when being defeated outside of ranking event periods
- For Season Ranked battles, reduced the amount of Rank Points lost upon defeat based on the difference in total combat power
With the release of Rikku and Clive, Square Enix is expected to slow down the rate at which characters are released in Dissidia Duellum. Up until now, the game has been receiving two new characters every two weeks, but now that the game will be updated with a character from each game, priorities are expected to shift to different types of banners.
Dissidia Duellum: Final Fantasy is currently available to download for Android and IOS devices.
