On the morning of December 8, 2024, Type-Moon and Lasengle announced the details for this year’s Christmas event in the mobile game Fate/Grand Order. These details include the event date and which servants will be added to the game.
Following up on last year’s addition of Santa-Nemo, this year Type-Moon has chosen to give another child-servant a chance to be Santa Claus; that being the ever-popular Abigail Williams. Ever since her initial release in 2017, Abigail Williams has been one of the most popular Fate/Grand Order original servants. It was only natural that she would eventually be given a Santa-alt.
Santa Abigail Williams will be given out for free to all players who complete this year’s Christmas event titled “Pohjola’s Christmas Eve: Dreaming Santa and the Nutcracker”. Her class will be Pretender, making her the second Pretender servant given out for free and the first to be given away since 2022.
As Pretender servants are one of the rarest classes in the game (currently having less than 10 servants), Any player who needs a servant effective against the three knight classes should prioritize completing this event. Plus, Abigail is just too cute to pass up.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Santa Abigail’s addition to the game is her Noble Phantasm animation, which features her dancing alongside the Fate/Grand Order protagonist; Making this the first time the protagonist has ever received a battle sprite in the game’s history.
Alongside the addition of Abigail Williams, another servant will be added to the game’s gacha during this event: Louhi, a figure from Finnish mythology and the first ever Fate servant to be from Finland. Louhi will be added to the game as a 5-Star Berserker servant, no further details are available at this time.
The Pohjola’s Christmas Eve: Dreaming Santa and the Nutcracker event is scheduled to begin on December 11, 2024. Louhi’s corresponding gacha banner will also be added to the game at the same time. Players will need to have clear the main story up to at least Lostbelt 6 to participate in this event’s story.
