Fate/Grand Order, particularly the North American version of the game, is no stranger to its fair share of glitches. Whether it be a simple UI issue or something drastic like a raid spawning with 0HP, at least once a year, players can expect to see some oddity with this game.
Even with this expectation, though, it is incredibly rare for an update to completely break one of the game’s playable characters. However, this did happen on the evening of December 19, 2025, when the game was updated for the release of its Christmas event: Merry Christmas in the Snowy Field 2025.
Considering the cast of the event, one would expect a relevant character who appears in it, like Captain Nemo, to have been broken, but somehow, a character with no relation to this event was the one affected, as the Summer variant of Chloe Von Einzbern had her skills broken fundamentally during this update.
Summer Chloe’s first skill, “How’s the Progress B,” is the one that was broken during this patch. When working this skill properly, it will raise the attack of all allies and give characters a secondary buff called “Completed Draft” whenever they attack an enemy. Once the most recent update for the game was installed, however, this buff stopped being applied.

Or rather, it would only be applied in specific circumstances. As attacking enemies with Noble Phantasms will still apply the buff, meaning a lot of players who use Chloe to loop Noble Phantasms may not have noticed this change. Those who use her during boss battles or challenge quests, though, were quickly able to realize that normal attacks were no longer applying the “Completed Draft” buff.
While this may seem like a minor bug at first, it actually has a fundamental effect on Summer Chloe as a unit. This is because her third skill, “Manuscript Received,” increases allies’ Noble Phantasm strength and raises their NP gauges by 10% for each “Completed Draft” buff they have. Without being able to stack a ton of these buffs at once via normal attacks, this skill is next to useless in combat.
By breaking a single one of her skills, Summer Chloe’s entire kit doesn’t work. Her only use as it stands currently is to help loopers by using her second skill to retreat to the back row after applying the few buffs she currently can.
While this glitch isn’t as much of a disaster as the infamous Tunguska raid incident of 2023 or the 24-hour Jeanne Santa Lily maintenance, it is still very disappointing to see this happen and for a beloved character like Chloe to be removed from many people’s parties as a result. Hopefully, this glitch will be fixed when the game updates next in 2026.
