To celebrate Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary, Capcom held a poll to find out the top favorite monster among fans. All 229 monsters across different Monster Hunter games were included in the ballots. But the mightiest monster of ‘em all, according to fans, is none other than the fierce and thunderous Zinogre!

Zinogre and the rest of the top 10 picks were announced during a livestream event held on March 12th on Monster Hunter’s official Twitch page. The top 10 winners include Alatreon for number 10, Ruiner Nergigante for 9th, Fatalis for 8th, Nargacuga for 7th, Velkhana for 6th, Gore Magala for 5th, Valstrax for 4th, Lagiacrus for 3rd place, and Nergigante for the runner-up spot.

Zinogre came out as the winner among them. Known as the Lord of Lightning and the Thunder Wolf Wyvern, Zinogre is one zappy monster that charges its body with electricity. It even glows blue when it reaches its enraged state. It thrashes itself, particularly its tail, which is quite a memorable move among hunters. It’s one cool and fierce monster, alright!

The top three monsters, Zinogre, Nergigante, and Lagiacrus, are featured in a new artwork created to celebrate the results of the poll. This art was specially created by the official Monster Hunter team.

The 20th to 11th picks were slowly announced on Monster Hunter’s official Instagram and X/Twitter pages prior to the stream, with one monster revealed per day. Some of the monsters that surprisingly didn’t make it to the top 10 are Crimson Glow Valstrax, who was heavily featured on Monster Hunter Rise, the slippery and bubbly monster Mizutsune, and the great Primordial Malzeno.

If you’ve missed this poll, you can still catch the next Hunter’s Choice poll, which is about the top fan-favorite Best Monster Theme Music. Voting starts on March 13, 2024 and ends on March 27, 2024. Visit Monster Hunter’s official website to cast your vote. Better hop to it, hunters!
