Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition All Lobster Locations (Rise of the Blood Lobster Walkthrough)

One of the most tedious quests in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is the Rise of the Blood Lobster, which comes back from the WiiU version of the game with no real changes. There are 99 lobsters to find all over New LA, and they are almost impossible to find without a guide. After starting the quest, you will see red icons which pinpoint the location of a lobster, as you would with collectibles outside of NLA, but that’s still not enough to help you. So, I’ve made sure to look for each and every one of the lobsters in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition and take screenshots of the locations, so you can get them as quickly and as easily as possible!

If you have any problems or need extra help you can hit me up directly on Discord for answers in the help channel!

Disclaimer: I haven’t added images to all the locations, I’m working on it!

How to Start the Rise of the Blood Lobster Mission

To start the quest where you have to collect 99 lobsters, you will need to first finish the Chapter 3 mission.

After that, the first lobster will spawn right south of the Outfitter Test Hangar landmark, off the ledge.

After finding this one, the mission will start and 48 lobsters will spawn all over NLA.

Just a heads up, you won’t be able to finish the quest until you finish Chapter 11, since lobster 98 is locked behind a specific mission.

All Lobster Locations

You can click on the images to open them up and see them better!

You can also check the boxes next to the lobster number if you want to remember which ones you got and which ones you forgot about!

Industrial District (First 48)

Directly next to where you started the quest, at the end of the unfinished road. It’s at the end of the metal ledge.

Walk right inside the Outfitter Test Hangar and walk straight. You’ll see the icon for the lobster on top of a platform.

On top of the Repenta Diner. You can reach the roof with a simple sprint jump and then you just need to jump on the “tower.”

On top of a little structure just south west of the Central Industrial District landmark.

On top of a white Redshift container, north east of the Central Industrial District landmark. You can jump from container to container until you reach the top.

At the end of the hallway with the elevator, north of the Central Industrial District landmark. It’s on top of a container.

Take the elevator north of the Central Industrial District. The lobster is on top of the structure behind the elevator’s upper floor.

On top of a platform with an orange crane on it, east of the Central Industrial District.

This is one of the harder ones to reach. Personally I couldn’t parkour my way up there, so I decided to use an alternate path. If you take the elevator up and jump off the platform to the right, on the NLA’s inner wall, you can jump down from there right on the platform.

On top of the Integrated Production Plant. The only way you can get there without a Skell is to take the elevator up and jump off the ledge, onto the inner wall on the left.

Walk a bit on the wall and jump on top of the plant. You’ll find the lobster in the eastern part of the roof, right past the solar panels.

Commercial District (First 48)

South of the West Melville Street, right on the metal bar hanging off the unfinished road, same as Lobster 1.

South of the West Melville Street, a bit to the right there’s a building with a bunch of steel bars stacked in the parking lot. The lobster is right behind the bars, in the northernmost point of the parking lot.

South west of the Central Melville Street there’s a parking lot. The lobster is behind one of the cars.

South of Barista Court, in the bushes in the middle on the pedestrian street.

On top of the building south west of Barista Court. You can jump on the stone fence behind the building and then on top.

East of Barista Court, right at the edge of the street. The lobster is right next to the tree.

East of East Melville Street, in the bushes of one of the trees next to the road.

East of East Melville Street there’s a closed off gate. The lobster is to the left of that gate, past the barricades.

South west of East Melville Street there’s a big parking lot and an L shaped building. Jump on top of the building and the lobster can be found between the roof structures.

In the middle of NLA there’s a bunch of circular vaults in the water. One lobster is right on top of the north eastern one.

Jump into the water south of North Founders Street and climb up the red pipes pathway, as shown in the image above. Once you reach the platform, drop down from the right corner and you’ll pick up the lobster even if you don’t drop on top of the red pipe where it’s situated.

Administrative District (First 48)

Fast travel to the Restricted Hangar Entrance and walk to the gate to the east. When you reach the gate, look to the right. The lobster is sitting on top of a container.

At the Hangar, walk to the set of Skell platforms and climb the one where Camber and Mika are standing in front of.

From the Restricted Hangar Entrance walk to the west. You’ll reach a military camp where Doug hangs out. Walk behind the fence to the north of Doug’s location and you’ll find the lobster sitting there.

If you have Doug in your party, remove him and his companion icon will appear on the mini-map, making it easier to find him.

Right outside the Hangar there’s a large building with two steel pipes coming into it. You can either head to the outer freeway and jump on the slide-like structure to reach the top, or you can scale the walls from Blade Tower and jump directly on the thing, right over the steel pipes. I tried both options and they worked.

From the elevator in Division Drive that leads down to the Hangar, walk to the west. You’ll find a set of steel bars that you can walk across. The lobster is on the bar on the right.

From the elevator in Division Drive that leads down to the Hangar, walk to the west. Walk past the steel bars and climb to the top of the red crane to the right.

South of Division Drive, on top of a beam in the middle of the road. You can take the stairs to the left, pass the bridge, and then jump on the beam.

On the rooftop west of the Shop Terminal in Armory Alley. You can jump on the truck on the other side of the street, climb the little crane on top of it, and then jump on the rooftop.

Above the entrance to the Barracks. There’s a staircase to the south you can take to reach the lobster.

South of Blade Tower, on the ledge overlooking the cathedral.

As you look at the Blade Tower from the landmark, climb to the little platform to the left of it.

South east of the Blade Tower landmark there’s a set of orange stairs that leads down. As you descend, you will see the lobster in the distance on the left, hanging off a ledge. Jump down and approach it.

At Mission Control, go up the stair case to the left. The lobster will be at the top.

Residential District (First 48)

South east of the cathedral, there’s a little circular plaza. There lobster is right there.

There are 4 houses that face the cathedral right across the street. The lobster is on the southernmost house’s roof.

Inside the garage south west of the Ishmael Hills landmark.

There’s a set of cars parked south east of Ishmael Hills, right next to the ledge. The lobster is right there.

West of the Sports Complex landmark, there’s an unfinished road. The lobster is right there.

North of the Sports Complex, in the back garden of the first house.

This one is actually the hardest out of all the first 49 lobsters to pick up without a Skell.

It’s on top of the crane west of Deliverance Park. To get up there, you will first need to climb on the two containers to the south (the white and red ones).

From the containers, you can jump right on the lower part of the crane. Walk up to the little sloped pulley. This part will be the hardest.

Walk up on the left side, hugging the cable (you can’t climb on the cable). At the top, make a little jump to get on the circular part of the pulley.

If you got there, you only got one step left: sprint jump onto the higher part of the crane. If you make the jump, you’re all but assured to get the lobster.

If you can’t do it, just wait to Chapter 6 to get a Skell.

At the unfinished road north west of Deliverance Park.

At the top of the Water Purification Plant. You can just climb from the water up the slope.

Right under the Purification Plant in the water. Even though it looks steep, you can climb the pillar without doing anything special.

The lobster is right on the platform down on the water in the north western corner of the district. If you’re at lobster 43 you can just swim to it. If not, you can teleport to Deliverance Park and jump off the north western ledge.

Ma-non Ship (First 48)

If you don’t know what the Ma-non Ship is, then you need to continue the main missions and complete Chapter 5.

On the outer hull of the ship, on the middle tip.

On top of the middle flower in the Starboard section of the ship.

On top of the green orb next to Pfeffen in Starboard, on the lower floor.

Directly east of the orb where you found the previous lobster, on the ledge to the south.

Lobster 49

You can only get lobster 49 after getting all 48 lobsters beforehand.

Right to the east of Boze, in plain sight next to the steel bars.

After picking up lobster 49 you’ll get a cutscene and the next 48 lobsters will spawn.

Industrial District (50-97)

On the outer layer of the Outfitters Hangar, on the south western edge.

Right as you enter the Outfitters Hangar, on the left you’ll see a platform with a girl working on a green Skell, behind a kneeling Skell. The lobster is on the platform.

Across the street from Repenta Diner where there’s a bunch of crates. The lobster is between the wooden stacks to the north.

On top of the south western pillar at Integrated Production Plant. You can get there by foot by jumping from the black truck, onto the ledge. From the ledge, onto the corner, and then onto the pillar.

To the south of Central Industrial District you’ll find Roscoe. Behind him, to the west, you’ll find a helicopter. The lobster is between the crates next to the helicopter.

Inside a fenced off area east of the Central Industrial District landmark. It will be right under a construction Skell.

Right where you found the previous lobster, lookup. The lobster will be between the crates next to the Skell. You can jump there from behind.

Right behind Professor B’s lab.

Right under the elevator at the West Gate.

Take the elevator at the West Gate up and walk down the hallway leading outside. The lobster will be in the hallway on the left.

Commercial District (50-97)

On the southern road that leads to the Industrial District.

Where you picked up the previous lobster, take a few steps to the west and you’ll find a red staircase. Go down that set of stairs and you’ll eventually bump into the 61st lobster.

After going down the stairs from the previous lobster, walk on the red pipes all the way to the circular things in the water and jump to the one you can reach. You don’t even have to swim. The lobster is right on the round mechanism.

Back where you found lobster 49, if you were a bit perceptive, you would have seen there’s a lobster between the two black trucks. Next to Boze, south of West Melville Street.

Sitting on a bench next to Cheche on the main road, east of West Melville Street.

Walk up the road from Cheche, into the parking lot with the A Hero’s Ride mission, and pick the lobster from the free parking space.

East of North Founders Street, hanging of a steel beam. You can walk on the steel beam above it and drop off, hugging the beam as you fall. You can pick the lobster up without actually landing there.

In Central Melville Street, between Relojero and Isyqua.

North of East Melville Street there’s an unfinished road. The lobster is on a ledge on the western side of the road.

At the end of Melville Street, close to the sealed north eastern exit, there are two yellow trucks. The lobster is between them.

On top of the tallest building in East Melville Street. It’s impossible to get there without a flying Skell, so ignore this until you finish Chapter 9.

Administrative District (50-97)

In the Hangar, a lobster can be found north of the landmark, on top of an elevated path near some crates.

Located on top of a structure right where the Yardley’s Hideout landmark spawns you, and you can run up the slant to easily reach it.

Situated on a small ledge near the top of the elevator that leads to the Residential District.

Under a helicopter in front of the BLADE Tower.

On the lower connecting bridge between BLADE Tower and the building south of it. Flight is required to access it.

The BLADE Tower itself has a lobster on top. Flight required to reach it.

Located on top of a building north of BLADE Tower, also requiring flight.

In Armory Alley, the lobster is positioned on top of the Arms Manufacturers building, and flight is necessary.

Below the previous location in Armory Alley, also requires flight.

In Armory Alley, you can find one behind a stack of three small crates after getting behind the shop terminals, north of Blade Tower.

Above the Harriers area in Division Drive, requires flight to access.

In Division Drive, located in the higher level of the district above where the Murderess hangs out.

Behind the Mim Center in the Mimeosome Maintenence Center.

At the end of East Gate near Thomas.

Residential District (50-97)

One is situated on the small path near the elevator that leads to the Administrative District.

Inside the Cathedral’s belltower, requires a Skell.

Found in a backyard west of the Cathedral.

At the basketball court in Ishmael Hills.

In the Sports Complex, on the white house north of the Tennis Court.

Located near the two Yellow Construction Skells in the Sports Complex.

There’s a large platform on the water level in the north western part of the district. The lobster is down there.

Up the staircase next to the previous location.

Ma-non Ship (50-97)

Next to Heradot, on the section of the Deck’s hull overlooking the teleporter.

In the upper section of the Starboard, right across the fast travel point, on top of a black structure that can be reached jumping off a pod.

In the upper section of the Port, on top of a black structure that can be reached jumping off a ledge.

Port side, under the green orb.

On the lower section of the Port, behind some boxes.

Lobster 98 + 99

You can only get the last final lobsters by getting all the 97 ones beforehand and completing the Definian Downfall mission.

Behind some crates in the Mediators part of Division Drive. After collecting this lobster you’ll get a cutscene and the 99th lobster automatically.

The next part of the mission can be done by following the mission markers, so the rest should be easy enough.

I would like to give a hand to add pictures of the missing places so we have all of the refs. Do I send them to your email or something?

As a note for anyone confused: Number 83 is behind the ECP building, not the Mim Center

I can’t find 80 and 91 for the love of god… this quest is infuriating
