Using the Communicator in The Evil Within 2
Here’s how to use the Communicator in The Evil Within 2 game on PC. Just press the default “F” key to bring out the walkie-talkie or Communicator. You can also map the keyboard controls to your preference and switch to “Q” or “G” or any other key that you’re used to.
Using the Communicator on Xbox One
In both of the Control Scheme Types A and B, you can use the Communicator by pressing the Y button.
Using the Communicator on PlayStation 4
For Playstation users, you can use the Communicator (in both A & B control schemes) by pressing the Triangle button.
When to Use the Communicator in The Evil Within 2
If there is any Resonance, i.e. an enemy or disturbance near you, then it will set off a frequency on the Communicator marked with different colors.
These frequencies will be displayed as orange, green, or white – which represent main missions, side missions, and extra items respectively. When you pull out your Communicator you will also see a number on the bottom, which will show you the proximity of that Resonance (disturbance/threat).
Remember to pull out your Communicator and check regularly! This will help you complete objectives and collectibles a bit easily. It is also helpful in finding out ammo and other supplies. You will also get a tutorial regarding the Communicator as you step outside of the Safehouse.
