Epic Games Celebrates Halloween With Free The Evil Within Games

The Epic Games Storefront for PC games is no stranger to giving away critically acclaimed titles for free. In the past, the store has given away popular titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Batman: Arkham Knight to users with no strings attached.

This Halloween season is no exception to this trend as several popular survival horror titles from video game publisher Bethesda will be given away: The Evil Within games.

The Evil Within franchise is a series of third-person survival horror games with a focus on combat and crafting survival items. The games have wormed their way into the hearts of horror game fans over the past decade with many favorably comparing them to industry juggernauts such as Silent Hill.

The first game in the series in particular is looked upon with respect as it was the directorial return of Shinji Mikami, the original director of the Resident Evil franchise. While Mikami didn’t return for the second game, many still enjoyed the direction that Bethesda took with the title.

On October 19, 2023, Tango Gameworks and Bethesda’s popular 2014 horror title The Evil Within will be available for free. This deal will be in effect for the entire week, ending on October 26, 2023.

In addition to this, the 2017 sequel The Evil Within 2 will be available for free on the following week from October 26, 2023, to November 2, 2023. Allowing gamers to play the entire beloved series at no cost to themselves.

Other titles that will be available for free on the Epic Games Storefront this month will be the puzzle games Eternal Threads by Cosmonaut Studios and Tandem: a Tale of Shadows by Monochrome Paris.

With all of these great games being made available for free, gamers who are still undecided on what to play for the Halloween season have been given an obvious choice for what to pick up.
