Street Fighter 6’s cosmetic microtransactions have been the center of many controversies since the game was released. From charging $15 for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outfits to asking players $106 to wear each character’s third outfit, it feels like the game is getting more expensive by the day.
The newest outfit added to the game may be one of the most outrageous ways Capcom has tried to nickel and dime their customers yet, as this outfit that can be worn only by players’ online Battle Hub avatars will cost them a total of $24.
The Noble Bundle costume costs 1,200 of the game’s Fighter Coins currency to purchase, which is roughly $24 in USD. However, it is also split into multiple parts that the player can buy individually, each of these parts costs 500 of the game’s Fighter Coins.
If one were to buy the costume in pieces instead, this would cost them about $8 per piece. However, due to Street Fighter 6’s in-game currency being sold in packs of set amounts, the cheapest of which is $5, you’ll most likely have to pay $10 per piece.
Just the shoes alone on this new outfit will cost players the same amount of money it costs to buy a full costume for the characters you’ll be playing the game as.
This large outfit price was immediately noticed by Street Fighter fans and has become the subject of mockery online, with several viral tweets making jokes about what other Capcom products could be bought for the same price.
The future of Street Fighter 6’s microtransactions is yet to be seen, however, as every outfit has been more expensive than the last only the worst can be assumed for the upcoming Spy x Family collaboration outfits.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available to purchase on PlayStation 4, PlayStation, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam.
