If you guys don’t want to lose out on cool eggs like I did because I didn’t understand why we should play at nighttime, here’s a guide on all the Invasive Monsters and the rare eggs they guard in Monster Hunter Stories 3, including their locations and weaknesses.

I will explain how to temporarily repel each Invasive Monster to unlock the rare eggs, as well as mention any weaknesses or attack types for players who got further away in the game and want to beat them. Every Invasive Monster has a different gimmick which repels them, either attacking different body parts, or using a specific weapon, unlocking the Endangered Cave of a specific rare egg.

If you beat them completely, they will mostly only drop Decorations, as well as Invasive materials, which you might need for higher level weapons and armor. They do respawn in the Endangered Caves where you initially meet them so you can always farm them. However, the likelihood is really small (0-5 materials/fight), so I’d recommend farming them more late game.

Azuria

Invasive Yian Garuga

The Invasive Yian Garuga is the first Invasive Monster introduced in the game, as part of the tutorial in the Endangered Species quest. First, pick up the shiny bits on the ground. Try to do this every time, as it will prepare you for what you will need in the fight to come. In order to Repel the Yian Garuga, target the legs with a sword (either works).

For Rematch strategies, using skills such as Soulseer should make the Garuka miss most of its attacks.

Invasive Plesioth

To find the Invasive Plesioth, you will have to follow the northern river into a cave. In order to repel the monster, focus your attacks on its head. Using a Fire attack will instantly break it.

Invasive Seregios

Probably the best way to get to this particular monster is by starting from the campsite around Mirror Lake. As before, remember to try and get all the clues before engaging. For the Invasive Seregios, you will need a hammer. I’m specifying hammer and not blunt weapon, as you will need an AOE Hammer attack to repel it. The monster will send powerful shards towards you, which you need to send back with the hammer.

Invasive Arzuros

The Invasive Arzuros in another creature related to the main quest, and how you help the local tribe get back their Canyne friends. The Arzuros will use honey to call companions during the fight. If you don’t manage to deplete its honey supplies, it will make a very powerful attack. In order to do that, target the accompanying enemies instead until the Invasive runs out of honey.

Invasive Nerscylla

Best way to go the wanted region is to start from the campsite on Blessing Hill and head east. The clues will suggest you bring a gunlance, so if you don’t have any built or on you, I suggest you equip one. The Invasive Nerscylla will evade all your attacks, so make sure to use Wyvern’s Fire or Wyvern’s Blaze (as they guarantee a hit). Hit it when it attacks you in its Invading form. You will know when that happens when you see the red line pointing at you to signify an attack.

Invasive Shogun Ceanataur

To find the next location, you have to go through the river path. There will be a waterfall. Walk through it and it will take you into a cave where the Invasive Shogun Ceanataur will be. You can track its movements on the minimap, if you want to pick up the clues first. For this, either use the Guard potion, Amorskin/Mega Armorskin, or have some kind of monstie with defensive abilities (Gravios – Guard).

You can either use a gunlance or hammer, as they each offer defensive skills, but horn would be best, as it can use a defensive skill for the entire party. The defensive abilities need to be (M) or (L), which just means medium or large, otherwise it won’t work.

Invasive Odogaron

The journey for this one is a bit more complicated, but around the area there should be multiple air currents on the right side that can help you get to the location. You will also have to climb a wall so be prepared for that. In terms of the battle, you will need a Monstie that can use Mudlight. Break its claws and the monster should be repelled.

Invasive Diablos

The Invasive Diablos will do stun attack the only chance you get to hit it, after which it hides in the ground. This one actually stressed me out, but basically you have to play whack-a-mole and hit the hole right before the monster shows up. There will be three holes and you can track its whereabouts based on where the dirt comes up. Make sure to hit the hole with a hammer before the dirt shoots up, specifically using the skill Meteor Attack.

Invasive Khezu

To repel the Invasive Khezu, you will have to use attacks together with your monstie, meaning Double Attacks and Mounted Attacks. You can add Decorations to your armor or give your Monstie a specific gene to increase the speed needed to fill the Kinship Gauge.
