JuJutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash Release Date Reveals Controversial Release Date

On October 11, 2023, video game publisher Bandai Namco and developer Byking released a new trailer for their upcoming fighting game JuJutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clashed. This trailer officially revealed the release date for the upcoming title.

The trailer begins by showing off a montage of the already revealed roster of characters fighting each other in 2v2 Arena action before moving on to show off various modes the player can expect in the game.

Players will be able to fight each other online in ranked battles or team up in a cooperative mode that pits two players against Cursed boss-like enemies. Players will also be able to customize their fighters online with 20 different color options.

This trailer also confirmed that the game will feature a story mode. The story mode will cover up to chapter 63 of the popular Shonen Jump manga and will feature both in-engine cutscenes and still images from the JuJutsu Kaisen source material.

Finally, the trailer reveals that the game will be released on February 2, 2024. This release date has been the subject of controversy already as it had previously leaked via the European PSN Store.

Many JuJutsu Kaisen fans and gamers in general are questioning Bandai’s decision to release the game on that date. The week of January 25-February 2, 2024 is already filled with massive releases such as Persona 3 Reload, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Tekken 8, and Suicide Squad.

With all those major releases and more coming out at the same time, most JuJutsu Kaisen fans have resigned themselves to accepting that the game is unlikely to sell well. However, there are still a few diehard fans who are planning to play the game on release.

JuJutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash is currently available to Pre-order on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|, and PC via Steam.
