Baldur's Gate 3 How to Get the Owlbear Cub

The first Act in Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of interesting side content that many players might miss out on. The Owlbear Cave is a dangerous location with a very powerful enemy that can get you a cute little companion to help you in the future. However, you need to be careful with the decisions you make, as you can easily miss out on the Owlbear Cub. Here is exactly what you need to do in Baldur’s Gate 3 to get the Owlbear Cub from the Owlbear Cave to accompany you in the upcoming adventure.

How to Get the Owlbear Cub in BG3

After you look a bit through the Owlbear Cave in BG3, you will find two things: the Owlbear mother with an Owlbear Cub and Egg, and a Gilded Chest.

If you approach the Owlbear mother, you can pass some checks to make her leave you alone, as long as you don’t approach her. However, no matter how many checks you pass, she will attack you if you get close to her and the child a second time.

After a difficult fight with the injured Owlbear, you will get a choice, if you didn’t defeat the Owlbear Cub during the fight, to end the suffering of the child or let them live. Most players will wonder if there is some way to recruit the Owlbear Cub into the crew.
