Bugs are horrible in a game such as Baldur’s Gate 3, since they can ruin your whole playthrough by making one of the most important characters in the story disappear. Halsin is the leader of the Druids that you’ve been searching for in the first half of Act 1 that can get stuck for some reason in the Goblin Camp forever. Even if you talk to him and tell him that you defeated all the Goblin leaders, he will tell you to meet at the Druid Grove, he will run away, disappear, and you won’t actually find him at the Grove. So, in this guide, we will tell you why Halsin won’t leave the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3 and how to fix the bug, allowing you to advance the story.
How the Bug that Makes Halsin Stuck in the Goblin Camp Appears in BG3
What we have personally experienced is that, after the battle in the prison where he is kept, Halsin will talk to you and tell you to meet at the Grove, either because you defeated the Goblin leaders in BG3 or because Minthara is preparing an assault on the settlement.
As he runs, he will walk through the fire on the ground and take damage. This, for some reason, stops him from leaving and he will now appear as an enemy. He won’t attack you, but his outline will be red.
For some reason, after getting hurt, Halsin won’t leave the camp and you won’t be able to talk to him. You will need to Long Rest first.
If you leave and take a Long Rest, you can fight Minthara at the Druid Grove, but Halsin won’t appear there once the battle is done. Players will realize that he is still inside the prison in the Goblin Camp.
After you tell him that you defeated the three Goblin leaders, he will tell you again to meet at the Druid Grove. However, again, he won’t appear there.
How to Make Halsin Leave the Goblin Camp in BG3
What you need to do to make Halsin leave the Goblin Camp in BG3 and fix this bug is:
- Long Rest to deaggro him.
- Talk to him in the prison the next day.
- Make sure that he disappears this time.
- Long Rest in the prison.
This might not work if you do it right after the battle with Minthara so make sure the next day to head back over to the Goblin Camp and try this fix.
You will witness a cutscene where Halsin will talk to you in your camp, effectively joining you on the adventure. However, you won’t have him as a party member yet. Unfortunately, you won’t see the cutscene at the Grove where he comes to fix the problems there.
And that is all you need to know about why Halsin won’t leave the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3. Check out other interesting BG3 guides and articles:
