Duskfade is a game that wears its action game-inspirations on its sleeve, and like many other games in this genre the player will need to collect items, in this case Star Core Fragments, throughout the various stages in order to increase your magic meter so you can spam skills in combat. For every three heart pieces the player finds during their playthrough, their magic meter will raise by another segment. This makes Star Core Fragments one of the most valuable and rarest collectibles to find. If you want to reach maximum health as soon as possible or are simply having trouble finding a single item, please follow this guide on where to find all Star Core Fragments in Duskfade.

All Star Core Fragment Locations in Duskfade

There are twelve Star Core Fragments hidden throughout Duskfade, allowing you to upgrade your maximum health bar four times throughout the game. No stage has more than a single Star Core Fragment inside of it, meaning that more than half of the game’s stages have them. Below is a list detailing all of the game’s Star Core Fragments in order.

Scorched Grove Star Core Fragment

After the first checkpoint in the area, you’ll come across a group of enemies near some exploding plants. Defeat them and a bouncy plant will bloom. Jump on it and you’ll reach a treasure chest containing a Star Core Fragment.

Starstone Mines Star Core Fragment

You won’t be able to get this Star Core until AFTER you obtain the Wings from the Clockmaker’s Rest stage. At the very end of the Starstone Mines, you’ll be in a large cavern where you must grapple onto various platforms. After using the fifth grapple point and landing on the second stone pillar, turn around. Here you will see some glowing light in the cave. Fly toward it and you’ll find a platform with a treasure chest containing a Star Core Fragment.

Mount Cinder Star Core Fragment

After the first checkpoint of the stage, point your camera down and you’ll spot a platform right by the lava. Jump down to it and you’ll find a chest containing a Star Core Fragment.

Lantern Port Star Core Fragment

Near the end of the stage you’ll pass through an island with two windmills on it. There are two grapple points on these windmills and if you use them to get to the top of the taller windmill you’ll find a treasure chest with this Star Core fragment.

Apprentice’s Wing Star Core Fragment

In the room before the fast travel point (where you caught the Thieving Cat), jump atop the two boxes at the north end of the room and you’ll find yourself in a small hallway. At the end of this hallway you’ll find a room filled with enemies, defeat them all and you’ll be rewarded with a treasure chest containing this Star Core Fragment.

Great Library Star Core Fragment

In the library segment near the end of the stage, after activating the gear which opens the final door turn around and you’ll see some platforms leading to a ledge on the right side of the room. Jump up there and you will see a purple door that you can enter with your Stopwatch ability. This will lead to a combat section that will reward you with a Star Core Fragment chest at the end.

Celestial Kingdom Star Core Fragment

After the second grind rail section, go to the left on the platform you land on and you’ll find a bounce pad that leads to several grapple points and wooden planks. Reach the end of this section and defeat all the enemies waiting for you there and you’ll earn a treasure chest with a Star Core Fragment within it.

Royal Highroads Star Core Fragment

When you reach the large sundial next to the fast travel point, point it toward the southeast, grind jump off of it, and continue down the main intended path. However, when you reach the end turn your camera down and you’ll see a platform with a treasure chest that you can jump down to. Go down there and you’ll be rewarded with a Star Core Fragment.

Auric Palace Star Core Fragment

Near the start of the stage there will be a platform with multiple sets of stairs. While here, jump toward the ledge with a bouncy plant and it will lead you along a path that ends with a treasure chest containing this Star Core Fragment.

Stonetusk Canyon Star Core Fragment

During the large grind rail segment at the end of the stage there will be a part where you need to hit a lever in order to open the door. While riding on the rail which has the lever, turn around and press the left shoulder button on your controller to jump off the rail and land on another nearby one. This hidden rail will lead you directly to a purple door that you can pass through with your Stopwatch ability. This purple door has a combat section which will reward you with a Star Core Fragment.

Clockmaker’s Rest Star Core Fragment

During the segment where you’re chasing Cuckoo, you’ll need to cross some invisible platforms to gain the wings ability. When you first activate the platforms, you’ll notice that several of them move to the right to an early part of the stage. Platform on these invisible blocks and you’ll reach a pillar with a treasure chest which contains a Star Core Fragment.

Chronos Aeternum Star Core Fragment

This Star Core fragment is located in a chest directly in front of the fast travel point, you can’t miss it.
