Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has 23 characters playable in its base roster, with more to be released over the course of the year via DLC and free patches. Just because additional characters will be coming via DLC doesn’t mean the base game doesn’t have a surprise, though, as the game actually features two unlockable skins for Sonic and Sage that players who are skilled at racing in Grand Prix Mode can wear during any type of race. How to Unlock Sage and Super Sonic Skins in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
Both Sonic and Sage have an optional skin that can be unlocked by getting wins in the game’s Grand Prix mode. These skins can be worn in any style of race (with one major exception for Super Sonic) and are as follows.
How to Unlock Original Sage Skin
Sage’s unlockable skin is based on the villainous look she has during most of Sonic Frontiers. As many gamers prefer this look over her blue and white color scheme, having it be an unlockable skin is a treat.
To unlock this skin, players must win the Secret Grand Prix on any difficulty. To unlock the Secret Grand Prix, you must simply beat every other Grand Prix on any difficulty. Once you win, you can select either color scheme for Sage any time you choose to play as her.
Oddly enough, because the game considers this version of Sage to be a seperate character it isn’t uncommon to see there be two versions of Sage in a single race.
How to Unlock Super Sonic
Sonic’s unlockable skin is, of course, based on his iconic Super Sonic form. In contrast to unlocking Sage, which should only take a few hours of game time, unlocking Super Sonic will be quite a grind, as the player must defeat every single rival racer in the game’s Grand Prix mode to unlock him.
The game has twenty-three different rival characters to face, so make sure you slowly chip away at the different rivals as you grind toward completing every Grand Prix on each difficulty. Once you have beaten them all, you’ll automatically unlock Super Sonic.
Unlike Sage, however, Super Sonic is more than a simple skin as he has increased stats, which increase his drift charging speed and make him completely invincible. Because of this, he is the only character who is not playable in any of the game’s online modes.
