Because problem solving in 007: First Light is typically centered around figuring out how to infiltrate a location or remain unseen, the game doesn’t exactly have many traditional puzzles for the player to solve. Despite this, there will be a few moments throughout the game where the player will need to thoroughly examine objects in an area to figure out what they need to do. One of these moments occurs during the Knightfall chapter of the game, where the player will need to sleuth around the office of Nicholas Webb in order to crack his safe. If you are having any trouble opening this safe, then feel free to consult this guide on how to open Webb’s safe in 007: First Light.

How to Unlock Webb’s Safe in 007: First Light

While making your way through Webb Industries, the player will eventually sneak into the office of Sir Nicholas Webb himself. Here, you will need to press a button on his desk which will reveal his safe. Unfortunately, it’s locked and you’ll need to figure out the combination yourself. Thankfully, our partner gave us a hint for opening it. “Diploma, Painting, Game, Model”.

What does that mean though? Well there are plenty of objects in the area aside from the safe, so let’s examine them and see if we can learn anything about the combination.

Going in the order that our clue lists, let’s examine the various objects around Webb’s office to see if they reveal the safe combination. The first object we need to examine is the diploma that he keeps framed on the table in the center of the room. According to this document, Webb was first in his class.

Next, let’s look at the painting on the left side of the room. This lovely piece is titled Basilisk, rendition #4. Pretty easy to tell that we’re looking for numbers in the descriptions of the objects we can examine around the room now.

The third object we’ll need to examine is the video game that’s on display near the safe. The title of this old-school adventure game is Hyperion 9.

Finally, head to the right side of the room and look at the Scale Model of the office building on display here. This model is titled “Site III” and is the last clue we need to deduce the safe combination!

Now that we have examined everything, let’s return to the safe and input the numbers we just learned in the same order that our clue lists: 1493.

Once you enter the combination, the safe will open. If you successfully opened it on your first try, you’ll also complete the Crackerjack challenge.
