If you’re stuck on the puzzles in the new Rogue Trader DLC—and don’t feel like spending forever brute-forcing every possible combination—this guide will walk you through how to solve each one so you can get the DLC rewards, as well the related Achievements.

By solving the puzzles, you can unlock the following Achievements: Historical Excavation, Promethium Master, and Vandal. Technically, you also get Ancestral Traces as the first one in this series (since they all have numbers on them), but you unlock this one simply by following the DLC mission and finding the secret study of Seberian von Valancius.

Zarkov Puzzle

In order to get to the puzzles, you will first have to complete the mission —In the Footsteps of a Legend—. In order for the plot to start, you will have to warp around the map and the events will trigger.

To encounter the first puzzle. you will need to follow along with the quest The Awakened Dead. An event will trigger where you have to defend Zarkos from invading xenos, after which the Lost Tomb will be unlocked. Go through, fight the enemies and then the puzzle will be on the left side of the chamber.

Unblock the way with an Athletics check. There, you will find a computer, a dead man and a big chest. First, grab the items on the individual. You will get a note that should help you figure out how to work out the puzzle.

At the computer, there are 2 handles and a pad you can interact with. When the screen is black and all the lights on the chest are red, press the handles/pad in this order: right, middle, left, left. That will unlock the mechanism and give you the achievement Historical Excavation.

As a reward, you get a Reinforced Flask Armour, as well as a Premium Implant. Details are in the screenshots above.

Museion Puzzle

This puzzle is still part of The Awakened Dead storyline but, just so you know, I didn’t get the achievement for it (not sure if it’s because of a bug or not). When you first enter the Museion, you will find the puzzle on the top right corner of the map.

The idea behind this one is connecting the outer red circles together (the ones that are lit up to the ones that aren’t). So, all you have to do is turn the discs so that they connect the red lines together to form a path. I’ve drawn up the pathway in the second picture along the discs you need to turn. You will also see how the discs look like once you’ve completed the puzzle + the direction I turned them to achieve that.

The reward is another Premium Implant, which helps you replace the Strength modifier with Intelligence, as well as using Ballistic Skill instead of Weapon Skill for close combat. If your character can’t use it, you can probably give it to Pascal.

Tirkuaz-4 Puzzle

Right, so, don’t make the same mistake I did and go directly exploring the new systems unlocked with the DLC to find Tirkuaz-4. You won’t find anything. Instead, you have to focus on the Sector Bionica plot and talk to Genetor Ferrenz about how to upgrade the throne. The quest should trigger once you own some Premium Implants and try to use the throne. Finish the —Premium Implants— quest, and you will get a new quest —Industrial Sabotage— which will unlock the map on Tirkuaz-4.

The puzzle will be in the upper corner. There is a gate with steam blocking the two chests holding the rewards. The actual puzzle will be to your left, on the top left corner of the map.

There are 3 wheels next to a red energy generator. The solution is to turn them in order for the bars to reach the specific stop line on the generator. There are multiple ways in which you can do this. Personally, I rotated in the order 1-2-1-2 and it worked perfectly, turning the generator lights green. The gates should now open and you will unlock the achievement Promethium Master.

The rewards for the first chest are a Forge World Armour + Somatic Premium Implant (specifics can be read in the screenshots above). In the second chest, the rewards are a power maul + a leg implant. The implants will be useful if you’re going for the Praise the Omnissiah Achievement.
