One of the only collectibles in Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 are the Dataslates. These little pieces of audio can be found tucked away on each one of the mission and operations maps. If you’ve played the game for a bit, you might wonder how you could miss anything, considering everything is linear. However, you’d be surprised what some xenos-destroying does to your brain. In this guide I’ve listed all of the Dataslates’ locations for each mission and operation which will allow you to get the Data Mining achievement.
Kadaku
There are a total of 4 missions that take place on Kadaku, and there are exactly 10 Dataslates to find here.
Skyfire Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
The first Dataslate is right at the start of the swamp area. So, after the air strike, you will be teleported to a swap. Walk through the wooden archway and you’ll see two orange exploding flowers.
Walk through them and you’ll find a secret area with the Dataslate on a box.
Dataslate #2
A bit later in the swamp, you will reach a broken bridge full of xenos. Defeat them and cross through the little valley to reach the other end of the bridge. Up there, you will see a little tower. Jump down to the left of it.
Down in the little puddle straight ahead you will find the Dataslate.
Dataslate #3
At some point late in the mission, you’ll reach a room full of dead xenos bodies. The objective will lead you to the right, where a large illuminated turbine can be seen in the distance.
Do not go after the objective. Instead, go to the left and climb the stairs. The Dataslate will be at the end of the staircase.
Dataslate #4
After meeting up with the troops, you’ll have to take up an elevator to reach the targeting system.
Go around the elevator to the right and the Dataslate will be right there on the ground.
Inferno Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
The first Dataslate can be found at the start of the mission. You’ll reach a place where the path splits in two, with a bunch of orange exploding flowers in the middle.
Go to the right and you’ll find an opened bunker. The Dataslate is inside, at the end of the bunker, to the left.
Dataslate #2
While advancing to the Observation Platform, you’ll enter a large room with a large broken bridge in the distance. Here, you’ll have the option to walk either up a platform to the left or under it, where you’ll also face a bunch of xenos.
Walk up the ramp to the left and check out the small “room” to the left, where you’ll find the Dataslate on a table.
Severance Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
After passing under a bridge, you will reach a small camp. You’ll need to climb up to the right and then go to the left.
At the end of the path you’ll find a bunch of xenos standing next to a broken down vehicle. The Dataslate is right behind the transport ship.
Dataslate #2
After passing the large gate and entering the Adeptus Mechanicus facility, you’ll find yourself in a huge dark room full of rats, with only a couple of red lights guiding your way.
Walk up to the red light in the distance and you’ll find the Dataslate right next to it.
Dataslate #3
This is one of the first ones where you actually need to do something before finding the Dataslate. In a room full of xenos and guts all over the walls, you’ll have to interact with a green terminal to the left to open a door.
After defeating the xenos inside, walk to the right. The Dataslate is at the end of the ventilation shaft.
Dataslate #4
After getting jetpacks and jumping over a cliff, you will enter a dark cave. The Dataslate is up inside the cave to the left. You’ll need to use the jetpack to get there.
Avarax
You will complete 6 missions on Avarax, which should get you a total of 14 Dataslates.
Mechinus Divinitus Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
At some point in the mission you’ll reach an extendable bridge. Look to the left and you’ll see the Dataslate on the roof there. Walk past the bridge and walk to the left outside, on the ledge, to get it.
Dataslate #2
At some point you’ll reach a hallway where you can see the shadow of a xenos. In horror movie fashion, the light will flicker when you get there and the shadow will disappear.
Walk to the right twice, then to the left, and you’ll reach a room full of bodies. The Dataslate will be in that room, next to a Mechanicus.
Dataslate #3
A bit after the boss fight, you’ll reach a room where a hatch door will open right after defeating the xenos defending it. Inside the main mission will take you to the left, but you will walk straight ahead. The Dataslate is in the darkness, to the right.
Ballistic Engine Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
Right after the dust storm area and elevator, you’ll reach a room with a altar. Go to the right, then to the left, still following the objectives, and you’ll find an engine room to the right. Enter it and to the left you’ll find the Dataslate.
Dataslate #2
Start looking to the left right after jumping down to the train tracks area. The Dataslate is to the left, right next to a tank.
Servant of the Machine Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
The first one in this mission is right behind the elevator.
Dataslate #2
As you go down into the Temple of Thassean, take a look to the right.
Decapitation Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
Inside the first big chapel, as you progress toward the main objective, go up the stairs and through the archway up there. The Dataslate is on the left.
Dataslate #2
Follow the Hive Tyrant into the tunnels by going objective to objective. Once you reach a room with a large fan in front of you, go to the right instead of following the objective to the left.
Vox Liberatis Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
Follow the set path from the elevator at the cathedral and down the stairs to the right.
At the bottom go to the left, up the stairs, and then take the first left again. The Dataslate is right in this reddish room, in the righthand corner.
Dataslate #2
On the lower levels of the cathedral, you will reach a large room with access to one hallway. Face the hallway with 01 next to its sides, the one that’s shining blue, and walk to the right. The Dataslate is on a table there.
Voidsong Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
Once the tank breaks through, you’ll need to restore power to the door. Don’t follow the normal route and walk outside of the building to the left. You’ll enter the lower levels of the building. Follow the path until you reach the Dataslate.
Dataslate #2
By following the objectives you’ll reach a destroyed area with burning barrels in the middle of it. Follow the path and jump using the jetpack to the broken ledge above the weapon cache.
Dataslate #3
Follow the objectives until you reach a room full of bodies being burnt. Take a hard double right to find the Dataslate in the corner of the room.
Demerium
Titus and his squad of Ultramarines can find 11 Dataslates on Demerium.
Reliquary Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
In the main hall of the Tomb, face the large green console and walk up the stairs to the left.
Walk to the end of the floor and look on the ground to the left.
Dataslate #2
By following the objectives during the Heldrake bombardment, you’ll reach a tall tower that will hide you from the fire. Once inside, the objective will tell you to go to the left, but you should go to the right outside on the balcony and then right again to find the Dataslate.
Fall of Atreus Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
By following the main objectives, you will jump down in the church at a loadout drop after using the crane to lift the rocks.
Instead of going ahead toward the objective, go behind the place you dropped down from and you’ll find the Dataslate at the end of the room, right behind the statue in the middle.
Dataslate #2
Climb up the ramps in the Manufactorum while following the objectives and take a left when you reach the part where there are two ramps going straight ahead.
Dawn’s Descent Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
While advancing to the cathedral you will keep using the jetpack to jump from floating rock to floating rock. Right when you reach the cathedral, walk to the left and then take a right at the tombstones.
Dataslate #2
While advancing to the Mechanicus Facility, you will reach a large graveyard area. Instead of going up to the objective, follow the path to the left.
Going down that path will reveal a little crypt area with a statue. The Dataslate is shining a bright green, which makes it hard to miss.
Dataslate #3
After destroying the eye altar, follow the objective to explore the ruins and you’ll reach the lit up area from the image below. Instead of following the way to the right, climb to the left in the darkness. You’ll reach a ruined platform with the Dataslate on it.
Dataslate #4
This one’s pretty hard to miss. While advancing to Aurora you will pass through two blue illuminated pillars. The Dataslate is to the right, next to the broken down ship up front.
Bellum Sempiternus Dataslates Locations
Dataslate #1
Jump down through the doorway marked with a big X in front of it.
Go to the left, then to the right, and you’ll find the Dataslate on the ground.
Dataslate #2
While advancing to the Second Force, you’ll enter a burial tomb. Instead of going to the right, as the objective will tell you, go to the far left corner of the room, up the stairs.
Dataslate #3
For the last Dataslate, follow the objective to reach the Obelisk. At some point you will reach some a crystalized doorway.
Instead of going forward, go to the right and around the rubble to reach your final destination.
