One of the most exciting Warhammer 40k games announced in 2022 was Rogue Trader. The game is being developed by Owlcat Games, the creators that brought us Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Owlcat Games has managed to create a loyal fanbase that can’t wait for new content, and the tabletop community cannot be more excited for a new CRPG in the Warhammer 40k universe. The game is getting closer and closer to release and we have to know exactly when that will be. Official Release Date for Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader
Update: Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader will be released on December 7, 2023 for PC.
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader just entered its Beta stage on June 1, however, there is no official news on a possible release date from Owlcat Games. The game was officially announced in June 2022 and it entered its Closed Alpha stage on December 7 of the same year.
Right now, players can enjoy the Prologue, Act I, and Act II in the Beta. Considering that Wrath of the Righteous had 4 Acts, we can assume that we are getting closer and closer to a full-story playthrough.
Wrath of the Righteous released its Beta on February 2, 2021, and then officially came out on September 2, 2021. It took exactly seven months for the game to come out of the Beta.
Considering the speed at which the developers are getting through the game’s Acts, we can assume that Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader is likely to come out in Q1 of 2024. However, this is just speculation on our part, since there is no way to predict the real release date.
One of the staff at Owlcat Games stated on the official Discord that they “don’t have any idea of the release date.” Though this might upset some players, it is much better that they take their time developing a good game rather than promising a release date just to deliver a buggy mess.
