The world of Wuxia is incredibly entertaining for most players that discover it, considering that all the games about this universe like giving us a choice between good and evil. As you traverse the lands as a Wandering Sword, you will stumble into many characters that you will want to recruit. Unfortunately, there isn’t any easy place where you can find all the information you need in the game. So, in this guide, we will list all 14 recruitable characters in Wandering Sword, while also showing you their location and how to recruit them.
All Recruitable Characters Locations and Recruitment Method in Wandering Sword
All recruitable characters in Wandering Sword will have a red tiger right next to their name when you approach them. To recruit them and make them follow you around, you will need to reach 60 Affinity with them, by completing quests and giving them gifts.
There are 14 recruitable characters in Wandering Sword and all of them will require you to do something different to get them. Here is how to recruit each one of the possible companions and where to find them:
Wei Huo
Wei Huo is the first recruitable character you will meet in Wandering Sword and you will actually get him to join you by just following the main story.
- Location – Wutong Village
- How to Recruit – Spar and Win
Bai Jin
Bai Jin is one of the first recruitable characters that you will meet in Wandering Sword. However, you won’t be able to recruit him for a really long time, since you will need to first finish a quest for him at the end of the world.
- Location – Luo Village (southeast of Wutong Village)
- How to Recruit – After finishing the main quest in Mount Wanzi, you can find him next to the Waiter in Luo Village. Complete the two quests for him and you can recruit him in Petalsfall Forest (south of Luo Village). Fight the Beggar’s Sect and give him a few gifts to get 60 Affinity, and he’ll follow you forever.
Shangguan Hong
Shangguan Hong is the fan favorite companion that all players will want to recruit in Wandering Sword. You can get her very early on in the city right next to the starting village.
- Location – Pingkang City (west of Wutong Village)
- How to Recruit – Complete the sidequest for Lord Wang (relatively hard), who stands in the middle of Pingkang City with two Bouncers. Then, raise her Affinity to 40 in Pingkang City and complete her quest to recruit her.
Sima Ling
Shangguan’s sidekick, Sima Ling will be an amazing addition to the team, even if we were to ignore how annoying she can be when you first meet.
- Location – Qingmu Sect (east of Wutong Village)
- How to Recruit – Complete Shangguan Hong’s companion quest, finish her first quest to collect bamboo, and raise her Affinity to 60.
Lu Xianer
This powerful spear user is one of the easiest characters to recruit in Wandering Sword, making her a much needed companion in the early game.
- Location – Gusu City, East Side (south of Qingmu Sect)
- How to Recruit – Fight and save her on the platform (only available after becoming a Wudang Sect disciple). Meet again and recruit her in Wutong Village.
Kong Liang
Kong Liang is a very powerful companion that starts with 100 Constitution. If you want a real tank in your party early on, make sure to give Yanfu Town a visit.
- Location – Yanfu Town (northeast of Wutong Village)
- How to Recruit – Complete his quests and the ones for Luan Qiong (the lady standing next to him).
Chen Linxi
Chen Linxi is a horrible human being but a relatively useful companion. Unfortunately, you can’t pick him up until relatively late in the main quest.
- Location – Pingkang City
- How to Recruit – Defeat him and his pupils.
Leng Wuqing
Both him and Ye Fei will become available after the Tanlong Gang quest.
- Location – Leijia Village
- How to Recruit – Defeat Tianlong Gang’s advisor.
Ye Fei
Both him and Leng Wuqing will become available after the Tanlong Gang quest.
- Location – Lotus Lake (southeast of Wutong Village)
- How to Recruit – Complete Leng Wuqing’s quest and win a fight at the location specified above.
Huo Changqing
Huo Changqing is an interesting character that is out on a quest for vengeance. However, you can only get her relatively late game.
- Location – Fancheng City
- How to Recruit – Follow and save her in Chenjia Village.
Li Yuanxing
A relaxed, content martial artist that would prefer to be a fisherman rather than a fighter.
- Location – Tancheng City
- How to Recruit – Complete all side quests involved in the Battle with the Beggars’ Sect (3 quests)
Yan Weihuan
Incredibly powerful fist/palm user that players can only get later in the game, as he appears along various sidequests.
- Location – Bramble Shade Forest
- How to Recruit – Complete all side quests involved in the Battle with the Beggars’ Sect (3 quests). Then, save him and Xun Yaoyao by bringing Li Xuangxing with you down to Solitary Cloud Marsh Pier.
Frosty Condor
One of the most powerful characters you can recruit in Wandering Sword, Frosty Condor is a late game addition to the crew that most players will love.
- Location – Mingjian Festival
- How to Recruit – Hear a rumor about horse thieves in the western region in Wudang Sect and enter Sweetspring Village north of Tiansui.
Di Zui
This powerful Shaolin Monk is probably one of the hardest characters to recruit in Wandering Sword, since you need to complete many quests before getting him.
- Location – Shaolin Temple (northeast of Yanfu Town)
- How to Recruit –
- Kong Liang saved and in your party.
- Chen Lenxi alive and in your party.
- You returned Frosty Condor’s jade pendent after Mingjian’s tournament.
- Len Wuqing must be in your party.
- Li Yuanxing must be in your party.
- Yan Weihuan must be in your party.
- You asked Qingxu to keep Cheng Yu at Wudang
- You must have completed Lu Xian’er’s companion quest involving Pingyang Fortress and have her in your party.
- You must solve Frosty Condor’s quest chain and miss none of the events.
- Frosty Condor must be in your party.
