We have gotten used to Paradox games to make everything easy for us. In the past, for most of their grand strategy games, all you had to do to annex a puppet or vassal was to press a single button. Now, with the addition of the diplomatic play system, everything is a lot harder than it should be. If you have too many puppets and think it is time for some of them to disappear, here is how you can annex your puppet in Victoria 3.

Annexing a Puppet in Victoria 3
There is no peaceful way to annex a puppet in Victoria 3. The only way you can annex a puppet in Vic 3 is to start a diplomatic play against your puppet with the “Annex Subject” goal.

Here is how you can quickly annex a puppet in Victoria 3:
- Open the Diplomatic Lens from the bottom of the screen.
- Select the Diplomatic Plays tab.
- Choose the Annex Subjects option on the left of the submenu.
- Choose the puppet you want to annex.

You can also just right-click on a province of the puppet and choose the “Annex Subject” option.
Once you’ve chosen to start a diplomatic play against your puppet, you will have to go through all the steps you would go during any normal play. Players will have to convince the great powers and regional powers to support them in their choice to annex their own puppet.
The best way to solve this would be to intimidate your puppet during the play into backing out. If not, you will have to go to war to annex your puppet and also fight whoever they managed to bring to their side.
