Making your own server settings in V Rising can be very confusing as you have to go through weird files and fight to understand what each command means. There are a lot of settings you will have to set and you don’t really know what your options are. Luckily, we looked through the server settings in V Rising and managed to understand what each one of those values and attributes actually means. Since you probably want to set up the best possible service for your friends and for other fans, here is what all the server settings in V Rising mean.
All Server Settings in V Rising
To change the server settings in V Rising, you will need to find the ServerGameSettings.json file. You can get to this file by going into “VRising\VRising_Server\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets\Settings.”
GameModeType
- PvP → PvP game mode
- PvE → PvE game mode
CastleDamageMode
- Never → Players can’t damage enemy castle structures
- Always → Players can always damage enemy castle structures
- TimeRestricted → Players may only damage enemy castle structures during certain times
SiegeWeaponHealth
For this setting, moderators can select the Siege Golem’s Health:
- VeryLow → 500 HP
- Low → 1000 HP
- Normal → 1500 HP
- High → 2000 HP
- VeryHigh → 2500 HP
PlayerDamageMode
Select when players can deal damage to other players (Disabled in PvE):
- Always → Players can always deal damage to eachother
- TimeRestricted → Players may only damage other players during certain times
CastleHeartDamageMode
Define how players interact with hostile Castle Hearts:
- CanBeDestroyedOnlyWhenDecaying → Players can only destroy enemy castle hearts when the Castle Heart is Decaying
- CanBeDestroyedByPlayers → Players may destroy enemy castle hearts using “key” items in the game
- CanBeSeizedOrDestroyedByPlayers → Players may destroy and seize control of enemy castle hearts using “key” items in the game
PvPProtectionMode
The amount of time players get after entering a PvP server during which they cannot be hurt by other players:
- Disabled → 0
- VeryShort → 900
- Short → 1800
- Medium → 3600
- Long → 7200
Default Value: Short
DeathContainerPermission
Specifies who is permitted to loot a player’s body after death:
- Anyone → Everyone can loot the body
- ClanMembers → Only Self and Clan Members may loot the body
- OnlySelf → Only Self may loot the body

RelicSpawnType
Determines whether soul shard objects are unique (one per server) or create a new one every time a soul shard bearer is defeated:
- Unique → Soul shards are unique – only one of each type may exist at a time on the server
- Plentiful → Soul shards are plentiful – a new one is dropped every time a soul shard boss is slain

CastleSiegeTimer
The period it takes for an opposing player to breach a castle’s outer fortifications. While a castle is breached, players may not build new structures or walls, and all constructions are vulnerable to destruction. The unit of time is seconds.

The period that players are prevented from constructing constructions or barriers when under assault. When hostile players use explosives or siege golems to damage any wall or entrance, the castle is considered under attack.
