On April 20 2026, Bandai Namco Entertainment held a livestream detailing the future of 2025’s Super Robot Wars Y and what future DLC fans could expect from the title. This stream revealed that the game would be receiving an Expansion Pass, which would add several additional anime, units, and story chapters to the game.
Super Robot Wars is a strategy RPG franchise where characters and mecha from various anime exist within the same world and fight through alternate versions of their plotlines, which accommodate this crossover nature.
Super Robot Wars Y had already received multiple DLC packs in 2025 that added series such as W, but Bandai has surprised fans by adding seven more anime in the DLC pack announced today.
The anime that will be included in this DLC pack are as follows:
- Space Runaway Ideon
- Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack: Beltorchika’s Children
- Idolm@ster Xenoglossia
- Star Driver the Movie
- Cross Ange
- Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution
This announcement has caused quite a bit of surprise and excitement in Super Robot Wars fan circles, as while some series in the Expansion Pass like Cross Ange and Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack: Beltorchika’s Children have become mainstays of the franchise in recent years, other series like Space Runaway Ideon and Eureka Seven haven’t been included in a mainline entry in years.
Perhaps the biggest standout reveal in the Expansion Pass’ trailer was Idolm@ster Xenoglossia. Despite Idolm@ster Xenoglossia being a Bandai Namco-owned IP, the series has yet to be in a mainline Super Robot Wars entry and has only previously appeared in the gacha mobile title Super Robot Wars X-O.

Super Robot Wars Y is currently available to purchase for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Expansion Pass will be released on April 22, 2026.
