The Super Robot Wars franchise has always featured secret hidden units that dedicated players could unlock if they took the correct actions. These secret units usually come in the form of recruiting a villain to join your party or finding a hidden optional mech. Super Robot Wars Y is no different as the game features many optional units that can be recruited throughout its seven chapters. While some of these units are obvious, others can be quite obscure. In order to help the playerbase obtain a full party of mechs we have put together the following guide on all Secret Units in Super Robot Wars Y and how to unlock them.
NOTE: This guide is currently incomplete as many secrets are still being discovered. If you are familiar with any we have missed, please message us on the Raider King Discord server so we can make a correction.
Super Robot Wars Y – All Secret Units Guide

There are two types of secret units in Super Robot Wars Y: Optional characters, who you cannot get without performing specific actions, and characters who you will always recruit but can obtain early if you are prioritizing specific units. For the sake of this guide, we will separate these two categories and cover optional units first.
Units: Olibee Quasan and Gavlet Gablae
Olibee and Gablae have traditionally always been recruited together in Super Robot Wars and their status in SRW Y is no different. Whenever Olibee appears as an enemy unit in a stage make sure to deploy Daba and position him next to her. When you do a “Talk” option will appear. After talking to her, make sure Daba is the one to destroy her mech. If you do this in multiple stages she and Gablae will eventually join the party.
Unit: Nei Mo Han
Similar to Super Robot Wars 30, players will be able to add this L-Gaim villain to their party if they fulfill certain conditions. Whenever Nei appears in a stage, make sure you deploy Daba and have him perform the finishing blow on her. If you follow this pattern enough she will eventually join your party near the end of the game.
Unit: Guel Jeturk
If you win every duel as Suletta during missions that adapt the plot of Witch from Mercury, Guel will join your party under the name “Bob” during the Chapter 4 mission The Witch’s Wishes
Unit: Bern Burnings
Bern from Aura Battle Dunbine will be a frequently recurring boss fight throughout the entire game. Whenever he appears, make sure you defeat him with Show Zama. Do this throughout the entire game and he will join during the final chapter.
Unit: Caruleum Vaull
During chapter 6 of the game, three sidequests will unlock which will allow you to fight against the final bosses of Super Robot Wars V, X, and T. Defeating all three of these superbosses will allow you to recruit Caruleum Vaull, the final boss of Super Robot Wars 30 in Y.
Optional Mech: Alpha Azieru
To unlock this optional mech for the UC Gundam cast, continuously deploy Gyunei and Quess into battle until they have a combined score of 150.
Assist Link: Mei Kamino
In order for Mei Kamino to join your party as an Assist Link, deploy Jet Jaguar frequently throughout your entire playthrough until he has a score of 100. If his score is 100 or higher by the time you have defeated Godzilla, you will unlock this Assist Link.
Assist Link: Relena Darlian
Relena from Gundam Wing is also available as an Assist Link in SRW Y. To unlock her, simply clear every Gundam Wing-related side quest throughout the game, defeat Wufei with Heero during his boss fight, and make sure Heero has a score of at least 100 before the finale of Gundam Wing in the main story.
Super Robot Wars Y Early Unlocks Guide

Not every secret in Super Robot Wars Y is an entirely new unit. Some secrets merely give you attacks and mechs you would have gotten no matter what but at a much earlier point in the game. If you want full access to your arsenal as soon as possible then follow these steps.
Early Destiny Gundam and Lunamaria
Shinn Asuka will join your party very early in the game, but his main mech, the Destiny Gundam, won’t be available for a long time. You can, however unlock it as early as midway through chapter 2. Simply get Shinn a score of 50 by taking down 50 enemies as him throughout the early parts of the game and you’ll unlock the side mission “Who Determines Destiny” and get both this mech and Lunamaria Hawke as a pilot.
Early Nu Gundam and Zeta Gundam
To unlock the main mechs of the UC Gundam protagonists as early as possible, deploy Amuro and Kamille into battle frequently until they have a combined score of 90. This will unlock the side quest “Beyond Time, Beyond Space” and reward you with these mechs.
Early Billbine and Gran Garan
Aura Battler Dunbine gets a lot of focus in Super Robot Wars Y and actually features Ciela as a playable character for the first time since Super Robot Wars 64. Those of you who wish to get her as early as possible should deploy Show Zama and Daba Myroad frequently as if they have a combined score of 50 by the midway point of chapter 2, the sidequest Aura Ladies will unlock. Clearing this stage will reward you with multiple Dunbine and L-Gaim units early.
Early L-Gaim MK-II
If you have unlocked the Gran Garan early, you can also earn another L-Gaim unit in Chapter 2. All you need to do is complete the previous secret and then raise Daba Myroad’s score to 55. Doing this will unlock the side quest “Double Heart” which will reward you with both the L-Gaim MK-II and Amm Fanneria as a pilot for the MK-I.
Early Siribine
Similarlly, there is another early Dunbine unit which can be unlocked if you have already gotten the Gran Garan early. After getting the Gran Garan, repeatedly deploy Show Zama until he has a score of 50. Once he does, the side quest Byston Well, Eternal will unlock. Clearing this quest will unlock the Siribine for him to pilot.
