One of the most important resources in Medieval Dynasty, straw is scattered around the valley and it would be useful for new players to settle close to a reed-growing location. Otherwise, you would need to grow the straw by planting crops. This can take a while if you have just started the game. We’ve already shown you where all the caves are, so, to make your Medieval Dynasty experience more enjoyable and slightly less harsh, here are all the reed (straw) gathering locations in the valley.
How to Get Straw in Medieval Dynasty
Straw can be picked up by interacting with the Reeds that grow next to lakes and rivers. At the start of the game, there are two locations perfect for this: northwest of Gostovia and to the east of the village, next to the bridge. Approach the Reeds in the water and press and hold E to get 1 to 2 Straws (press A on Xbox or X on PS).
Straw Locations on Map
You can see in the picture below the exact locations of all the reed (straw) gathering spots on the Medieval Dynasty map:

Collecting reeds will get you hundreds of straws that you can use for many of the buildings in Medieval Dynasty (such as the Woodshed, Fishing Hut, Barn, Henhouse, and so on). You can also use straw to craft Animal Feed, Daub, Flat Straw Hats, Simple Torches, and Straw Hats.
Later in the game, you can also get straw by farming Flax, Oat, Rye, or Wheat, and thrashing it at the barn afterward. You will get a straw per grain that you thrash. Farmers that have to get the mentioned grains will also get straws in the process.
If you are really lazy, you can also put your Miners to go and gather straw by themselves. This is not an efficient way of using their time. However, they can get the resource when you need it most.
